We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Charts
Each storefront's own chart, in its own country — the closest public signal to sales where none is published. A country missing from a list is one we don't collect there, not one where the game doesn't chart.

My altime favourite developers has done it again! The second game is now out and I've been looking forwarsd to it for years. If you like this game, you would also like their game Sherlock Holmes The Awakened (2023)

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 19: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 76.75/day in the week to Jul 15 → 3.57/day in the week after.
Too few observations to say whether a discount moves this store's chart at all: across the last 30 days Steam · Top Sellers · Poland has just 18 day-to-day chart moves that followed a price cut, against 2,498 that did not. We are publishing the count instead of a direction — 20 is the fewest we will draw a conclusion from, and price collection outside the United States began on 6 August 2026.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Just boring, they've looked at lovecraft's works and all they could get out from the books are ugly fishes. It is not really interesting, veeeeery slow, and maybe it gets interesting at some point but the whole early game is a hassle to go through. not really a game I would recommend.
I'm out of here

The game is a perfect blend of Survival Horror and Detective work, with a fantastic atmosphere, story, characters and dark themes, also the game doesn't treat you like a stupid 5 year old kid, meaning you have to investigate your way with clues, making the progression really satisfying. I hope Frogwares after SC2 returns to this formula.
I bought this expecting a horror game, but it turned out to be a detective game with abit of horror elements. The atmosphere is unique, the story is interesting, and the investigation mechanics are enjoyable. The deduction isn't too difficult—it just requires some reading and paying attention to clues. I also liked that you get to make choices throughout the game, even though the ending is ultimately the one you choose at the end. I don't think there are really good or bad endings; it just depends on your perspective. My biggest complaint is the amount of travelling. Going back and forth across the map feels slow, and I honestly don't think I would've finished the game without using mods for faster movement and teleporting. Combat can also be frustrating, especially on a controller, since enemy weak points are hard to aim at. I ran into a few bugs as well that forced me to reload an earlier save. Overall, I think it's a solid detective game with horror elements. It's not too difficult, and if you enjoy solving mysteries and don't mind the slower pace, it's worth giving a try.
The Sinking City is a love letter to Lovecraftian horror. Through private eye Charles Reed you explore Oakmont, a city ravaged by a flood and filled with despairing townsfolk as well as horrific creatures, to find the source of the unsettling visions and nightmares that keep him awake at night. You need to piece together clues from notes, testimonies and your own observations, make use of the archives in various institutions and find your way through the rather big remnant of the city. Over the course of the story you are also given a number of firearms to help you stave off the (mostly supernatural) enemies along the way. While I adore the whole setting, Charles as a character and especially the writing in many of the side missions strewn across diary pages and notes, the game has some glaring weaknesses that weigh the whole experience down more and more the more time you spend in it: * a main feature is the need to use the map to pin points of interest for your investigations, instead of the game just doing that for you. While the idea is great and very fitting, it is quickly reduced to simply opening the map with the clue highlighted, which will tell you the district and street names for the crossing you need. So you really just do a bit of micromanaging for your quest markers. This can be especially bothersome when you want to do the side missions that have a lot of locations (such as Letters of Oakmont or All That Glitters) as you spend a long time doing pretty brainless work * due to the size of the city you end up walking around a lot. Which works somewhat in allowing you to stew in the atmosphere of the decrepit city and its surreal dreamlike qualities but ultimately nothing is happening. Outside of the specifically marked Infested Areas there is nothing to see or find. All NPCs are generic background and sometimes pop in right in front of your eyes. There are a number of Fast Travel points that you unlock over time that really help with it, but then you also just walk to the next station - or save the game and reload which will put you at the nearest one right away - which undermines the idea of having such a large open world to begin with somewhat * ammo is supposed to be scarce and combat is supposed to be something that you avoid unless necessary. But you get so much loot in the Infested Areas that you'll end up topped off all the time, especially since you can easily use your melee weapon on a number of enemies without much issues. I will say though that this applies to Mouse and Keyboard. When I tried to play the game using a controller the turn animation was so sluggish that melee was actually not a viable option for me * the ending feels very rushed. For being the grand finale and world deciding action in the most hauntingly beautiful set piece of the whole game, you're not given anything to match that. You are faced with a very underwhelming Ending-O-Tron where you pick one of three endings before getting the corresponding cutscene. It didn't seem at all related to your decisions in the game and just looking at them I'm not sure if The Sinking City 2 won't have to retcon everything as a big dream sequence to justify its existence when it comes to the story. All that being said I quite enjoyed the game. It really nails the Lovecraft aesthetic and most importantly the writing. I found myself wanting to investigate everything just to get more insight into Oakmont and its denizens. Listening to Charles making his deductions and his dry comebacks in the dialogues, aided by the strong voice acting, was definitely one of the highlights. Some of the game's weak points can be looked past and incorporated into the world building if you take the premise on Charles' dog tag to heart: 'All that we see or seem is but a dream within a dream' Definitely recommended on sale for any Lovecraft enthusiast who wants a well told story - if somewhat weak on the gameplay side.
