About
The Outer Worlds 2 is the eagerly-awaited sequel to the award-winning first-person sci-fi RPG from Obsidian Entertainment (just look at the exciting number of dashes in this sentence!). Time to clear your calendar – get ready for an action-packed adventure with a new crew, new weapons, and new enemies in a new colony! So much newness!
As a daring and most likely good-looking Earth Directorate agent, you must uncover the source of devastating rifts threatening to destroy all of humanity. Your investigation leads to Arcadia, home of skip drive technology, where the fate of the colony, and ultimately the entire galaxy, rests on your decisions—your strengths, your flaws, your crew, and the factions you choose to trust.
The Arcadia colony is engulfed in a factional war, as the Protectorate’s so-called benevolent rule is challenged by the rebellion of their religious order and a corporate invasion. As destructive rifts spread across the colony, each faction fights to control or close them for their own ends. Navigate diverse zones, uncover hidden lore, and shape the fate of a system on the brink!
Build your character with the abilities and choices that reflect your playstyle. The colony reacts to your every move, crafting a narrative that’s yours to own—whether you’re a disciple of diplomacy, an astute strategist, a crusader for chaos, or something different altogether. And yes, you can dumb!
Recruit companions with unique traits, backgrounds and goals. Whether you choose to help them achieve their ambitions or steer them toward your own objectives, your influence shapes their growth (or death), making them an integral part of the immersive story you create together.

Reviews
Not bad but very bland. I don't remember why, but I liked Outer Worlds 1 and I didn't get all the hate about it online, yet I found Outer Worlds 2 quite uncompelling. There's a decent amount of content and I can appreciate the work behind it, but it all feels very shallow. The story is just okay. The npcs are not very compelling, you barely interact with the "bad guy", the conclusion feels rushed/disappointing (no talking with your crew before or after, weird and scarce dialogue deciding who would commit some pointless sacrifice). Auntie's choice felt kind of a boring faction. The companions are also disappointing. Most of them join your party too quick. They barely have any dialogue lines between them, barely any dialogue lines during/after important events. The voice acting is great, though. The gameplay is kinda bland. I wanted to go for an hybrid melee/gun build and found it lacking. Spent half the game with the same weapons (last special melee weapon you get towards the end has the same damage as one you get halfway through the game). There are no stat changes for melee attack speed, reload speed, weapon switch speed, no melee skills. The skills/stats are whatever (speech is kinda op). There's a lot of perks, which is cool, but you won't be able to unlock most of them. I'm a big fan of Flaws, even if most of the time they're not worth it (creaking knees one is funny). There is no respec system, which is a big disappointment. I guess the intention is not letting players cheese certain sections by temporarily upping speech? But locking them into bad builds is not the solution. Map design is also bland. Maps are too big and you have no means of transportation other than running, making exploration annoying. There's barely any interesting rewards for exploring the world or the instances. Level design is also mostly boring, linear except with a couple of vents where you can disable automechanicals/turrets. Collectibles are also boring, materials which you likely won't need, and miscellaneous food/inhaler charge. Weapons: decent variety for ranged, not melee Crafting: I really disliked it and mostly ignored it throughout the game. There are a ton of recipes but they're always the same 2 o 3 things for every weapon, most of which you won't use. The UI is bad, there is a lot of noise with duplicated recipes, recipes for weapons you don't have, etc. I obsessively explore and collect everything, yet I finished the game with half my weapons without mods (like, the gun hammer. why does it have a slot if there are no mods for it?). Many special equipment (like Gary armor, which I admit is quite funny) doesn't even have extra slots to use crafting for. Also, fall damage is overtuned and obnoxious. TL;DR get it for no more than 30 bucks if you like the genre, I guess

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 26: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

A complete upgrade from the first game. Still not on the level of Obsidians best, but still worth your time on a sale.
Increadibly mediocre game. Unlikeable companions and unlikeble factions. theres not much to say that already has been said in other reviews.
I really wanted to like this game, but the way the skill system strongly encourages a min/max character build is so disappointing. I read that they made changes to some of the skill checks post launch to try to address this but it just doesn't work for me. I loved the first game, so maybe I just don't remember how it work. Either way, this just doesn't do it for me. The flaw system as it stands is just bad. There is practically no incentive to take a flaw. I don't get it. The environments empty and boring. I feel no connection to the locations at all. Nothing is really pulling me into the story. Same for the companions that I've me so far. Overall I feel like this game should have pushed deeper into the world and given us better gameplay, but it just doesn't. Feels like they phoned it in to me. I still intend to finish, but what a disappointment. Glad I got it on sale.
Bon jeu, n'en déplaise aux rageux et aux fâcheux. (ils veulent juste un FNV 2 ces kelbs)
I genuinely tried to understand the Protectorate's knowledge and language. I have English as a second language, and this game somehow made me question whether I actually speak English at all. Every conversation had me thinking: "I understand every individual word... so why do I have absolutely no idea what they're talking about?" Still, I loved every second of it. 7/10. Excellent game. Humbling experience for my English vocabulary.
Average gameplay, poor writing and story, all biomes look the same. Its not an upgrade to the first one at all.
