Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0/day in the week to Sep 4 → 0.14/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I really wanted to like this game. Especially since it comes from Pendulo Studios - the minds behind the timeless classic Runaway. Their signature art style is once again on full display here, and honestly, it's stunning. The beautifully detailed, hand-drawn 2.5D aesthetic still works wonders in a modern adventure game. Visually, The Next Big Thing is everything you’d expect from Pendulo: vibrant, stylish, and consistently impressive. But unlike Runaway, The Next Big Thing is just... ungh. The characters are extremely irritating, loud, smug, and constantly acting like you should already know them. The writing throws you into random scenes with no real setup or context, expecting you to keep up. One moment you’re doing something vaguely coherent, the next you’re yeeted into an entirely new location as if several key scenes were accidentally left on the cutting room floor. Most solutions to the puzzles feel random or driven by gimmicks rather than clever problem solving. And when they do make sense, the execution is still off. Voice acting is... fine, I guess, but the endless list of supposedly funny one-liners from your characters will have you rolling your eyes more than chuckling. And then... there's the "tango" puzzle. A bizarre rhythm/timing-based minigame that feels completely out of place in a point'n'click title. Even when you know exactly what to do, it still manages to fail, seemingly just to spite you. It's easily one of the worst puzzle implementations I’ve seen in the genre. I really wanted to like The Next Big Thing. I gave it multiple chances. But between the grating characters, incoherent storytelling, and outright frustrating gameplay, it’s just not worth the effort. A beautiful-looking game that unfortunately forgets how to be a good adventure.

It's... BAD. Perhaps for kids no older than 16... if you're an adult with a minimum amount of books, movies, games and/or real life experience on your back... I'd say you won't enjoy this game very much. - Too short. - badly written characters - bad jokes too - terrible (and ultra-predictable) plot
The Next Big Thing —
Pretty decent game overall, with the exception of the "get the band to play the tango", which is obtuse and certifiably insane thanks to the randomness and strict timing.
(Hit drums, count to eight, hit violin, count to seven, hit bass, count to six, hit piano)
It was made worse due to a bug where my cursor would consistently disappear after activating the second instrument, so impossible to trigger the 3rd instrument until after I had completely restarted the game. Overall: It's no Monkey Island, but it was decent.
The Next Big Thing is one of the dumbest adventure games I've played in recent years. So much of the dialogue is obnoxious or dumb or doesn't make sense. Whoever oversaw the English translation needs to figure out the distinction between "closed" and "locked". The "ayo" thing gets old and annoying immediately. Multiple characters exclaiming "What a guy!" is stupid and grating. Discrepancies between voice-overs and subtitles.
One of the best and funniest point-and-click adventures! :D Dan Murray lost his Hair... :(
The Next BIG Thing
