PEAK
a bit overstuffed and predictable in comparison to how perfect cold steel 3 was, but the gameplay is just as good as always, the music is at its peak, and seeing the resolution of these characters after so many years of play is another level of exciting that i dont think you can even get out of any other game series a worthy conclusion of an 8 game saga, im waiting to see what falcom has for me next!

The most underrated franchise in the world. I bought Trails in the Sky in march 2023 and I consecutively played 9 Legend of Heroes games in a row and 1000 hours so far uptil now.
Cold Steel Arc is such a roller coaster experience in the Trails game series. Especially for CS4 I felt that Act 1 is okay with the continuation from CS3 and Fanservices. Then comes Act 2 - Act 3, the story felt weak and felt like it was written by a 10 yr old. So many weird decisions by the writer, almost all side quest felt mundane/ like a chores and it doesnt really impact the main story. (not all of them but most of them). TL;DR, it does not felt like we're at war but more like its a school trip with war theme. But things do picks up for the better in the Finale, although theres still a lot of of loopholes here and there but its definitely better, and I love the true ending.
I hate that they revive so many "dead" characters, it loses the impact in the story imo
Overall: 5/10 not the greatest entry in the Trails series I still recommend buying it just for the sake of continuation of the whole Cold Steel Arc, and to continue the next titles!
Peak JRPG, words dont do it justice
нихуевая игра 4
I think the best Cold Steel game, but still suffers from almost every single issue in the Cold Steel series. Characters go from good to evil constantly, the pacing is off, nobody ever dies, no stakes at all, questionable narrative choices... That said, for fans of the original Sky trilogy and Crossbell duology, there's a lot of great moments here. And even for Cold Steel fans, there are still some great moments to be played. The ending, despite being anticlimactic, still made me emotional.
17 hours in and still have not played as Rean. WTF
Cold Steel 3 raised my suspicions quite a bit with the whole curse hocus pocus. But this is the game that cemented my belief that the writers on this game are incompetent. Made me finally admit that i should have just stopped playing this franchise at trails the third. It saddens me a lot that this is the point that this franchise has fallen to. There was a lot of potential. But it's become clear that this franchise is going nowhere. Have refunded reverie and daybreak because at this point I'm not even minutely interested in what they have to offer. As of now, this franchise has only 4 games in my eyes: FC, FC Remake, SC, and Third. My head canon after that is that a giant meteor struck Zemuria and killed everyone. It was a tragedy, but c'est la vie. It's a better end than what cold steel is doing to the world anyhow. If you're reading this review and have not started the cold steel arc or even the crossbell arc, take this as my advice. Refund any game after Trails the Third and buy some other game that you might be interested in. This game series will hold you hostage, promising an epic payoff but there isn't one. It's just a slow descent into madness.
虽然又臭又长,但是普通结局爱之诗一放,真结局全主角团团战一打,轨迹上河图一出,谁能不和解呢?
