Trails returns to form here in style, with the characters from the first 5 games finally becoming directly relevant to the Cold Steel series, and the plot being accordingly grand. It doesn't overstay its welcome (looking at you, CS2), it improves every character (especially Rean), and it has a finale worthy of standing alongside its older peers. I had to start the next game immediately when I finished to see what happens next, which hasn't been the case since the first game. This game alone makes the Cold Steel arc worth it.

This is a very interesting evolution of the first two Cold Steel games, both Mechanics-wise, structure-wise and plot-wise. We're back to Cold Steel 1's School Life structure here, with Rean being now an instructor to a new Class VII. While there are fewer new playable characters than on the previous one, there are many, many returning characters from the previous games - both from the Cold Steel and the Crossbell and Sky sagas. Overall, it's a pretty fun evolution on the formula, even if sometimes it does feel a bit *too* formulaic. Good amounts of fan-service for people who played all the games too, without making it too forced. Mechanicaly, the game is as mature as the series ever got, evolving on the previous games, adding new mechanics, and evolving the Orbement system in a way that makes me miss the previous arcs system a bit less. The secondary Master orbement is a great way to add flexibility to the character builds, and the system is fun to play with, making broken builds. The plot is overall good, with the last chapter being a rollercoaster. There are a few things in there that, in my opinion, made some characters inconsistent with their evolutions through the game, but it's not a deal-breaker as long as it's well dealt with on the next game. Overall, a good, solid entry to the series.

Хз, скорее не понравилось, чем понравилось. Играть было приятно, обновленная графика хороша, боевка стала лучше. Однако... сюжет. [spoiler]Мне не понравилась концовка совершенно и вся финальная глава. И многое в процессе: слишком много роялей, особенно у противников. Злодеи, которые не злодеи уже поднадоели. Ну и конечно же в процессе ни один злодей не пострадал, классика. Все бесконечно меняют стороны, цели неясны. [/spoiler]
