Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.

Reviews
This game is just not fun.
Good WW1 games are very rare.
"Personally, this is one of my favorite games. It stands out for the sheer scale of its battles and the crucial role of tactics and strategy. The game also effectively portrays the horrors of modern warfare; if you leave your infantry companies exposed, they can be mowed down in seconds. The technology is impressive and can significantly tip the tide of any battle, enabling a variety of fun strategies. I would highly recommend this game to any strategy fans." Side note it takes a really long time for all campaigns so it isent a quick play.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 31: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.57/day in the week to Aug 11 → 1.14/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,515 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

It's alright if you get it at a deep discount, definitely not worth full price, mainly because of how bad the AI is in both the campaign map and the actual battles. At a campaign level the AI is so passive there might as well not be any AI at all. 2 years into the war the AI has launched a grand total of 1 attack against my territory. It doesn't bother to reposition its armies to defend places where I am obviously massing for an attack, and does nothing to save its troops from obvious encirclement. In the battles it has no idea how to defend against the simplest and most obvious tactic of simply pushing up one side of the map before sweeping across to take the rest from behind. I've used the exact same tactic in every single battle with a 100% success rate. It also has no idea how to build an effective trench network, making it pretty trivial to negate its defensive structures and emplacements. In addition, some of the claims made by the store page are just bogus. One of the things that drew me to the game was the claim that: "As you continue your push across the Western Front, you will revisit previous battlefields which will, over time, bear the scars and destruction of earlier encounters. Once lush countryside will degrade into a quagmire, marked with colossal craters left by your undermined explosives." That just isn't true. The only permanence to the battlefields is the trench lines you dug. The line does not get pushed forward in any way, no man's land occupies the exact same space every time. The only craters in the battlefield have nothing to do with anything you did, they are just preset versions of the map with increasing amounts of craters and damage based on the number of times you have fought a battle in that region. None of it is affected in any way by anything you actually did during gameplay. Artillery doesn't even deform the ground, it just leaves a decal that fades away after 30 seconds. The original Company of Heroes did better almost 20 years ago. Hell, even the Combat Mission games, notorious for their barebones graphics, do battlefield degradation better than this. The core gameplay mechanics don't do a great job of making battles feel like WW1 either. Trenches are done in a very 'gamey' way where they cannot shoot at each other, even when connected in a straight line, or even be shot at by infantry in any way. They are basically just emplaced turrets that can only be hurt by artillery or running infantry into them. Eroding enemy defences and pushing the line forward via small gains in a battle of attrition just isn't a thing in this game. In each battle, either you achieve total control over the map or you achieved nothing except to be rewarded with points bonuses at the end of the battle so abstract the game doesn't even try to suggest the points actually relate to some aspect of the war effort. And even if you do take complete control of the map, you only actually get the territory after playing and winning on that map for multiple consecutive turns according to how many stars it has on the campaign map. And remember, the AI is too passive to even reinforce the territory. So if a region has 3 stars, that means you have to play the exact same battle against the exact same army composition 3 times in a row just to capture it.
Im gonna tell you why I cannot for the life of me recommend a game developed by Petroglyph, master creator of Empire at war. One word: lines. Why are my men running a line backwards? Why do they get out of the trench then move all the way back? AI Cohesion? Its abysmall. I thought TW was bad, but nope. This takes the cake. How did they go from Empire at War to this?? 2nd, how does the AI know where my Arty is but I cant see them? Mind you, theres no way theyve spotted it and if they have there's nothing to show me! Even TW gives important notifications such as if a General is under attack or men are about to crack! I don't get any of that! Finally, back to the lines. Firing lines to be specific. WHY, WHY IN GODS NAME, WHEN I TAKE A TRENCH, THE MEN LOOK BACK THE WAY THEY CAME AND NOT FORWARD!? That makes no ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sense!!!! Once you get tanks you can essentially steam roll. Theres no anti tank guns or at personal which became a thing at that point. Theres not even cavalry early on. Cavalry were still being used to some degree well into the final phases of the war. I cannot recommend this game. It is either buggy or poorly designed. I could care less about DLC. Don't say a game is done when it clearly isnt!!!!!
The eye breaks too easily
Dude...why am I playing this game in 8-bit Mario resolution?? The game is awesome as regards actual gameplay and concept--love it! But FFS, why am I playing Minecraft WWI??!
light artillery is too strong, and has apparenlty been too strong since release, the AI uses the ♥♥♥♥ out of it and there is nothing you can do about it
Over the top
