Developed by Shinji Mikami -- creator of the seminal Resident Evil series -- and the talented team at Tango Gameworks, The Evil Within embodies the meaning of pure survival horror. Highly-crafted environments, horrifying anxiety, and an intricate story are combined to create an immersive world that will bring you to the height of tension.

Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 5.57/day in the week to Jul 30 → 9/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Poland over the last 30 days: the 21 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 12 places towards #1, and the 2,501 moves with no price cut behind them went 1 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

good game
shinji mikami dared to ask, what if i made a ♥♥♥♥♥ version of resident evil 4? and this is what came out level design took a huge hit, a ton of dumb walking simulator sections and boring stealth. but at least you can just go guns blazing on the stealth areas instead. the enemies are rehashes of Resident Evil 4's but slower and less responsive, the gunplay kinda sucks and the movement is god awful. the level design in the combat sections are pretty alright but its just RE4's but if it was only the first 1 hour of the game and the game wasnt fun to control.

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 11: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

i really liked the like ps3 vibe and i am in absolute love with juli kidman, plus the dlc is soooo fire and i enjoed really much the castellanos bossfight
I REALLY wanted to like this game. I went in invested in the story, atmosphere, and gameplay loop, and for a while I was genuinely having a great time. But once I hit chapter 10, this game started testing the absolute hell out of my patience. The jank was already there, but the INSANELY QUESTIONABLE DESIGN CHOICES started piling up to the point where I was dying over and over again on Standard difficulty, just sitting there thinking, what the ♥♥♥♥ does this game actually want from me? And that's what frustrates me the most. I didn't want to drop this game. I wanted to finish it. I wanted to see where the story went. I was invested, I was having fun, and then the constant ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ slowly wore me down until I was completely burnt out. Chapter 11 was especially infuriating. Some enemy spawns feel less like actual challenges and more like straight up gotcha moments. The Spider boss can chew through a huge amount of your ammo, only for the game to immediately throw you into a section with multiple enemies using dynamite and guns, PLUS a sniper sitting in the distance, while you're already running low on resources. And apparently I'm expected to memorize enemy spawn patterns just to get through these sections? At that point, it feels less like skill and more like "die once so you know what's coming, then try again." After a while, I was just sitting there thinking, are you ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ serious? That's not challenging anymore. It's exhausting. Then Chapter 13 happened, and that was the final ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ straw. There's this jigsaw-esque room that's basically a deathtrap in the dark. There aren't even normal enemies, just flames, spikes, and those ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ bladed Roombas patrolling the area while you're trying to figure out how the hell you're supposed to proceed. These things can stun lock you and shred your health incredibly quickly, which is already infuriating when you're trying to navigate around environmental hazards. And because apparently regular murder Roombas weren't enough, SOME OF THE ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ROOMBAS HAVE MINES ON THEM. So I'm standing in this dark ass room, trying to navigate around spikes and flames, trying to keep track of these things, trying to figure out the timing of the traps, and hoping I don't get caught in a stun lock that kills me before I can even react. One mistake and you're dead. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ fantastic. And that's where I finally snapped. This isn't even me complaining about a game being difficult anymore. I was just completely exhausted by the constant trial and error. You die, figure out what killed you, retry, and hope you remember everything that happened so you can make it slightly further. By this point, I wasn't scared. I wasn't tense. I wasn't even enjoying the challenge. I was just pissed off. I don't mind difficult games. I don't mind dying. Survival horror SHOULD make you feel vulnerable. But there's a huge difference between feeling vulnerable and feeling like you've been screwed over because you didn't already know what was coming. That's ultimately what killed the game for me. It wasn't one boss or one terrible chapter; it was the constant accumulation of awkward enemy placements, surprise spawns, stun locks, resource draining encounters, and trial and error ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. And the worst part? I actually liked this game. The atmosphere is fantastic. The story had me invested. The gameplay can be REALLY damn fun when everything clicks. That's why I'm so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ disappointed. There's a genuinely great survival-horror game buried underneath all these frustrating design decisions, but chapter 13 finally pushed me past the point where I could keep forcing myself through it. I didn't drop The Evil Within because I hated it. I dropped it because the frustration eventually outweighed the fun. And honestly, that's even more disappointing.
норм
9/10
If you like survival horror gameplay you will probably like this game, the bones are solid enough to be enjoyable. The main story is a bit mind numbing, as it's essentially just running around to find your NPC companions, then you do 1 area with them before the antagonist appears and teleports you to a different area. Most of the time these areas don't feel like they have any significance, they really just feel like generic survival horror locations. It's not that these areas aren't fun but at no point during the main story did I feel like I was making an real progress towards any sort of objective. I didn't find the main character very interesting, he reacts to everything in an extremely flat manner, his voice acting it meh at best, and the interesting story bits he does have aren't utilized for anything. The 2 major supporting characters aren't much better in the main story, but Kidman is at least made into an interesting character by the DLCs, which I think are very good if a little short, but they do manage to fix the problem I have with the main game by adding character significance to the areas and not overstaying the welcome, as well as leaning further into the horror aspects.
I shat myself more than once playing this game.
