Mick Carter's been drifting a while now- moving from job to job, never staying one place long. Jumping a box-car to his old home town, he witnesses a violent murder, is pursued by hi-tech soldiers, thrown in a reservoir and drowned.

The Drifter is our take on a classic 2d point and click adventure, with the brake-lines cut. The focus is on fast-paced storytelling, with puzzle-solving being the glue that ties it together. Mick's a practical guy, and so puzzles are down-to-earth too, designed to be unobtrusive, and give an investigative feel.
We're keeping the pacing quick and lean, you'll never be wandering around lost or confused- Mick is propelled through the story at a good clip, from one situation to another, with barely a moment to catch his breath. One minute you'll be crafting a Molotov cocktail from a bottle of over-proof rum, the next interrogating a crooked neurosurgeon before swinging from a high-rise window by a fraying extension lead.

Halleluja ist das ein cooles, erwachsenes Spiel! Das Storytelling ist grandios und insgesamt ist The Drifter ein Grindhouse-Horror-Pulp-Streifen vom Feinsten. (Das Spiel ist deswegen ab 12, weil die Gewalt so pixelig dargestellt ist... Den Stil muss man natürlich mögen. Ich mags!) Auf jeden Fall ist das kein Spiel, das man so wegspielt und wieder vergisst. Dringende Empfehlung!
8bit juego tipo puzzles con una historia totalmente entretenida, cuesta un poco de trabajo y algunas veces es cansado tener que adivinar como seguir avanzando, pero creo que ese es el chiste, asi que lo recmiendo.

Everything is great about this one, from visuals, through the sounds to the lore. Very much worth the time and money.
I wasn`t expecting such a good story when I started playing this game. For real, I bought it because it was in my steam-recommended queue and I read something about escaping a cemitery - it was just it. But the game surprised me with the quality of the puzzles - none are so difficult that recquired a walkthrough or so easy that I got bored - and the narrative. The voicing of the characters and the narrator are more than enough reason to play this kind of sci-fi/fantasy story.
The Drifter engages you from the get-go with its plot and characters. You really want to find out what happens next. Graphics: I love its pixel-art style, which is simple and low-res, with wonderful lively backgrounds and expressive characters. Interface: its interface is so elegant and efficient, and can be used with a gamepad very well. Sound: it has fantastic fully voiced dialogues, good sound FXs, and a nice, moody soundtrack. Plot: it's dark, with humor, and as I said before, very engaging. I read that it's being adapted into a movie, and I can understand why. Gameplay: puzzles are logical and don't require pixel hunting. Overall: I fully recommend this game if you like a good story. I think it's a great modernization for the adventure genre, that while respectful to its inspirations, also brings a lot of fresh ideas. I can't wait to play whatever this developer creates next. The Drifter is a 10/10 Stop reading reviews and go play it now, mate!
Loved it! The pixel art, the voice acting and story. A must play!
This game isn't terribly long (I finished it in ~8 hours). I initially felt like it wasn't my style of game, but I stuck with it and I'm so glad I did. Expert storytelling with some really engaging moments. Absolutely worth the time.
Great story, pixel art is fantastic, puzzles are decent and logical, for point and click adventurers, its a must play.
