About

14th-century Europe. Bloody conflicts sweep the lands, and the Black Death comes for the survivors. It's a moment of weakness - and that's all they needed. Vampires seize their opportunity to walk out of the shadows and claim what they've been denied for centuries: freedom, and the power that comes with it. Other creatures of the night follow their lead. Legends turn into reality, and history as we know it will never be the same.
You play as Coen, a young man turned into a Dawnwalker, forever treading the line between the world of day and the realm of night. Fight for your humanity or embrace the cursed powers to save your family. Whatever your choice, the question stands: is your soul worth the lives of those you love?

Experience and shape the plot the way you want. Embark on the quest to save your family, or swear revenge on your sire and destroy everyone standing in your way. Discover ancient secrets lurking in the valley. Rush in head first or risk taking time to prepare. Go alone or search for friends and forge unlikely alliances.

Experience two different gameplay loops, offering distinct abilities to choose from, mysteries to uncover, and varying ways to achieve your goals. Experiment with different approaches and discover how the world reacts to your actions.

Every action - and inaction - shapes the world around you. Your family’s days are numbered, and every time you take on a quest, time moves forward, compelling you closer to the end. Choose carefully whom to help and whom to leave behind. You will not have time for everyone. The world waits for no one. And neither does the villain.

Defy gravity, become a brutal force of nature, and use your supernatural skills as a vampire. Or raise your sword, and employ powerful magic to take on opponents as a human. Experiment and adapt as your form changes during the day and night; each has its strengths and weaknesses.

Venture through the hand-crafted open world and discover all it has to offer. Roam through the lush forests, the vast plains, the treacherous swamps, the steep mountaintops, and the medieval settlements. Explore forgotten ruins, find remnants of an ancient civilization, and uncover truths that should probably remain hidden.

Experience the beginning of a brand-new saga built with love for the role-playing genre. Immerse yourself in a visually stunning world powered by the next-gen Unreal Engine 5.

Reviews
Game is good overall (nothing amazing), had a few bugs (not game breaking) but I will leave negative review till they fix camera and lock in issues vs 3+ enemies.
Is it good? Yes. Is it frustrating? Also yes. Blood of Dawnwalker is fun to play, the combat however can be extremely frustrating, mainly the directional combat takes some getting used to. In one on one, or even two on one it feels smooth and provides a decent challenge. In combat situations where you are surrounded by three or more enemies it can get rather annoying, with flashing attack indicators distracting from the so much more crucial to follow parry indicators when getting attacked from any direction not directly in front. Target switching in multi enemy fights are also a rather annoying aspect of combat, but you can play around it. I am playing on a higher difficulty, which may add to the frustration at times, but despite the frustrations I do enjoy the combat and am confident the old saying "practice makes perfect" applies even here to my own parrying abilities. Story and setting I shall neither spoil nor delve too deeply into as I've not yet experienced that much of it. Thus far however, having completed the Prologue and then some, The story, and the voice acting is superb. The world building seems solid. The time mechanic. The one thing those of us that has followed this game since its announcement could never agree on. For me, it was one of the things that made the game interesting in the first place. I love RPGs in general, but I rarely ever finish them. Over the years I've started a new Skyrim save perhaps 20 times, not once have I ever actually finished the main story, only once or twice do I think I even made it to the Greybeards. I run around as you'd often do, doing side quests, gearing up, building that perfect character and then eventually get bored and quit. Having to chose what to focus on as to not lose track of that main objective of saving the family makes it all the more exciting I think. Yes I could go explore, following a trail of my own choosing, but sooner rather than later my mind is going to lead that trail back to the main objective, there's that thought in the back of your head, "I've spent 4 days exploring now, let's advance the main story a bit" and I think that's great. Performance I would claim is fine. Running on 1080p medium and high textures with DLSS Quality and Frame gen, these old eyes on this Potato+ machine is happy enough at 80-90 FPS. Does it look particularly breath-taking? No. Do certain older games I shall not name look objectively better without necessarily running any worse? Yes. Would that also be true for every single other graphically demanding release I've played the last couple years? Yes, very much so. It's not perfect. It's not great. It's not even good. It's fine. All in all I enjoy the game after my first 12 hour session. A session length I haven't had in ages. Will Blood of Dawnwalker sit beside KCD2 on the podium of RPGs I've actually played to their completion? I don't know, but all signs do indicate that is a strong possibility.

A rough diamond, Very comparable to witcher 3 in its quest format and open world storytelling. The story is engaging and it has interesting characters and lore, tge combat is great 1v1 but if you get swarmed by dudes it becomes a clusterf$@%.. Movement is and climbing feels heavy and clunk most of the time. UE5 has improved a lot but its still got stutters and ontop of that - they expect us to do to clean up the image and performance with engine file tweaks. Overall runs pretty well but needs alot of work, Had a few issues with quests being overtuned or straight up broken. As well as being forced to fight unkillable enemies with no way to disengage them without reloading a earlier quicksave.
im about 8 hours in and i can honestly say for the mixed reviews it was getting pre release it isnt bad, its alot of fun read all the lore and notes the world is awesome and i enjoy having another dark fantasy type of game similiar to the witcher
tried starting up with xbox controller. major input lag. will try with m&k. will update review after more gameplay
Love this game so far. As a hardcore Witcher fan I love the similarities. The world is beautiful. My only complaint so far is how quickly Coen runs out of stamina while fighting. It makes it really difficult to take down multiple opponents, even after upgrading it.
The story is so good the worlds interesting like the witcher and talking to npcs to figure out whats going on in the region is awesome my only con is the little time that a person has the 30 days to experience something which is okay but due to the fact that we cant continue playing after the story ends kinda sucks so it forces us to get the crappy ending sucks hope they add new game plus
Mixed feelings about this one. Cons: Stale vampire lore with no interesting details. No wooden stakes, no garlic, no having to be invited in. The main character has zero charisma. He's completely flat and doesn't make you feel anything. Boring side characters. Don't expect anyone like the Bloody Baron from The Witcher — the characters here are faceless and all cut from the same cloth. Since the characters are so flat, it's impossible to get immersed in the quests, whether you're reading them or listening. Hard to care about any of it. Pros: The combat grew on me over time. It's dynamic, but once you get the hang of it, it becomes very repetitive. Fun abilities that change between day and night. The wall-climbing mechanics have some interesting logic to them. Beautiful world. You can tell the devs really put in the work and will keep improving the game.
For me Blood of Dawnwalker is a mixed bag. Optimization could be worse...but it could be better because it isn't really moving boundry's with the graphics. The story and setting are good: Rebel wolves know how to tell a story and build a world. Where it falls apart for me is the combat. I'd rather cut my manlyhood off with 2 dull firestones and that would be more enjoying and entertaining. The 3rd person directional system is beyond redemption: more often than once I get pushed//moved into some gemoetry or weird angle and then your camera becomes your biggest enemy. There's a reason Kingdome come did it 1st person.
