for everyone who loves the vikingworld. good story. great game.
Bom... bem simples mas legal. Um game de 2014, então para os dias atuais não é nada assim tão incrível. 6/10 no geral.
The end boss is still broken over 10 years since this game launched. But its a good game.

yeah
good story line and game play
Motionless Skies And A Malnourished World.
This world stands motionless. The sun sits lazily into an endless day. The gods, some still pray. Dead but not forgotten… Life in the age they once knew has long passed. This story is already at an end. Hollowed and malnourished describes the world. A place where tooth and nail is the only way forward. Piercing screeches from stone skinned giants haunt the remnants of a lost era. This is the harsh reality of the Banner Saga. There is no one coming to save you or your family. It’s up to you to decide how that banner will be raised in glory or in defeat. With friendship and kindness or horror and hostility. It’s all your choice. You just have to live with it.
Axes and Axles.
The grinding of the wagon axles squeak with exhaustion as you hike up yet another mountain in the hopes of outpacing your enemies. Black little dots in the distance, always approaching, looming, never far behind. The glow of their never-blinking eyes polluting the hills. Prayers for a shelter—comfort, any simple pleasures to relieve the stress of the march. Anything to escape from those damned watchful eyes. This is the reality of the journey in an unwelcoming world full of suspicion and second guessing the intentions of others. Who is simply thinking for themselves? And who are thinking of the caravan? Do they deserve to be exiled for the good of the banner? Can you really blame refugees for surviving by any means? What about when your banner was built on the backs of fallen hopes and dreams? Towns long razed and left behind.
Heavy is the crown.
You take control of a reluctant human named Rook with a daughter named Alette. It’s up to Rook to do what’s best for his daughter, his friends, and his bannermen. Heavy is the crown on the head of a man who seeks no power. Still for a man who commands power there will be another who will try to take it. The ancient horned race known as the Varl see the truth in men—weak lives barely worth their years… Simply filled with greed to their very core. There is no peace found during this calamity. Refugees and migrants litter the dying world one small reclusive village at a time. Everyone can come along, but should they? It’s a brutal journey into an unfamiliar world where friend could always become foe.
From Skogr to Boersgard and the relentless march forward.
Marching forward in tune with the beat of our heart is a mighty task. Staying by your morals, leading man and Varl side by side to a journey to somewhere safer in the end of times. Is there more than simply an escape, an end, anywhere near in sight? There’s such a human element to this game. Migrants and the crisis of the end of all being a forceful factor in your journey. This is the end of the world. Will you let it corrupt your view of the others? Or will you bring them in as your bannermen? Strengthening your forces for the seemingly never-ending relentless march for more prosperous lands. Perhaps even somewhere free from all of this torment? The sun blares down another day. The journey continues… The white hills blinding as the snow melts and the sun sits still. Forever at midday you’ll be cast into eternal light. Forced to watch your friends, family—kin—fight in the wrathful rays of the sun. Seeing every clang, bang, and swing as the blood spills and the shrieks pierce. Shall we never feel night’s touch once more?
What is best is not always moral.
Decisions will weigh heavily on your mind. What’s the right choice may not be the moral choice. Rook isn’t a naturally gifted leader. His prowess and respect come from trial and error. Losing close ones: betrayals, starvation, the exhaustion of the road. Rook isn’t a hero. He’s simply a man who stepped up when others faltered. He represents the caravan, and personally, he was a stand up guy on my playthrough… And it cost him—big. You will lose friends. It’s sadly a common occurrence. This world isn’t meant for anyone, let alone a hero. You’ll be making rough decisions. They’ll test you. After a while the role-playing feels natural. Sinking into the game and absorbing its very essence. You feel the weight of responsibility as another young man dies under your command. What type of leader to be—that is up to you to decide. When is humanity worth less than a full belly? Can you take from the peasants next door? Can you look innocence in the eye and demand their lives or their stock?
Kickstarter passion.
The Banner Saga is one of my favorite fantasy worlds I’ve had the chance to explore. I’d put it on the same pedestal as Dragon Age when it comes to world-building by the end of the 3rd game. Characters are extremely well written with interactions I found to be incredibly meaningful. Choices seem to actually matter across my 2 playthroughs. Game has insane group synergies that are genuinely fun to explore and develop upon. Tons of fun tactics! Characters have stuck with me from 6+ years ago and I remember them fondly from when I first finished the Saga. Difficult choices came rushing back to the forefront and boy… was I so excited to make them again! This is a passion project that was backed on Kickstarter in the height of its reign. One of the rewards was to become a godstone. This could have been a terrible gimmick but I found it to be so respectful and genuinely so much fun to admire while you trek. 9 unique gods with their own values, beliefs, and advancements of all of the races. They were very much people of their own. Real beings who once impacted the lands to their utmost limits. Testing and weaving life itself like a game. We may never know how the gods died but we carry on their legacy through this realm. It shows with every sound, animation, and background. It oozes style, it’s hauntingly beautiful, and the music while you trek into the unknown only makes the experience feel more grounded. I truly thank everyone who was gracious enough to get this series off the ground.
Look at the map!
Study and peer into a beautifully illustrated map rich in lore and detail. Places with actual meaning and history. A proper fantasy epic. The sad part though, it’s a world within a death rattle. The end is coming, impending even. The best of times are over. Now is a time of survival and hardships. Of sorrowful songs to fill the endless day.
I found this to be one of the most tedious boring game I have ever played.
