Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 4.44/day in the week to Aug 4 → 31.43/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,515 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

+ Fluent combat + nice art, if you are into cyberpunk - Gameplay feels repetitive and becomes boring really quick - No exciting combat rewards - Interfaces are messy - Walking simulator between story points - Story is confusing, not a single interesting character you could care for. - Multiplayer implementation is so buggy, we sometimes spent half of our playtime just getting everyone on board.
First of all, the game is beautiful. Even after coming back years after to play the dlc map and new game+ on hard that remains true. The world is developed enough to have its identity. Story and characters are.. adequate. As much I want to recommend this game, the wrinkles however are in the gameplay and technical aspects. On the gameplay side, The Ascent is a top down shooter first and rpg second. Expect a lot of shooting even in a civilian dense area and while you're just traversing from point a to point b. I really wish my character didn't have to deal so many civilian casualties while doing my groceries. It also desperately need a dedicated running button considering the amount of backtracking here. There are tons of guns and abilities (augments here) to choose from to define your playstyle, that sounds amazing until you realize your options are limited by their actual effectiveness. For example, you want to play as a merc who is always surrounded by robot infantries, tough luck because all the summoned robots abilities don't last as long as you want on top of long cooldowns. Even worse all of them lost to an automated sentry that has the durability of planet cybertron and can be summoned infinitely. There are many cases like this in any kind of build you have in mind. The guns are similar, the options are cool but most of them don't deal enough damage to barely compete with the top spots. Scary sounding weapon like the Disintegrator, while having special weapon tag and big on screen dps stat, is actually a weak pick over other "non-special" energy weapons. Basically bad balance on both weapons and abilities. Even without upgrade materials limitations you'll end running with the same 2-5 weapons because of the viability issue. The technical aspects.. ooh boy. From my playthrough I saw from mostly harmless stuff like duplicating npcs, garbages doing crazy physics, strange visual only player character stutter to session breaking like random freezes, delayed hit after fast travelling, locked in the quest room, or no enemies spawning (I actually like this one). On singleplayer it's annoying enough to restart the session/game, can't imagine if these keeps happening in coop runs. I notice the devs are busy with their upcoming 3d cyberpunk game, so while these issues are present I would side on the not recommended for this mixed feeling experience.

Took 25hrs to beat the first playthrough with all the side quests, and a playthrough of new game+ with no side quest. All solo. Definitely worth picking up on sale. Looking forward to trying the dlc, and an Ascent 2 if it ever comes out. This could be a solid PoE contender if they decide to go that route. I only experienced 1 crash during that time, but the game autosaves frequent enough that I didn't lose more then a couple minutes.
Great game
Very good co-op!
A great sci fi rpg, Very much like blade runner theme, Great solo or 4 player with friends ! Pro's - great visuals, Sound, Action, Weapons and upgrades, Story Con's - Plenty of small bugs that freeze the game, Sound glitches out, Big explosions can crash the game, Menu's can be glitchy so you have to re-enter them, For the freezing and crashing simple tab out and select task manager and close the game and re-load the game Overal - A solid game to have many hours of fun solo or with friends !
Awesome! Diablo meets Cyberpunk. :) There are a lot of anoying bugs and features and the game's poor DirectX port cause freeze now and then. But, I've played it through twice. NewGame+ is a must try and the side missions are a nice addition.
Combat feels really boring. Just point and shoot and reload, with the occasional grenade or special ability. It's like a shooter except worse because of the fixed camera angle that you can't control, which really bothers me because of how unhelpful the map is. If the map isn't useful, at least let me rotate around, zoom in and out to see the wider picture. Feels very constricted. I don't like it. Too bad because the setting/story seems interesting.
Been playing this with the missus on local co-op for a couple of weeks. Definitely works better on DX11 and looks great. Get the occasional lock up but a quick reboot of the game takes care of it. Not sure if some of the problems are because I cast it to our TV. Cyber punk feel and look is handsome with some amusing quests and dialog.
