Reviews
The reviews saying it's "unfinished" are maybe a little harsh. I would instead say it's a game that's a little unpolished and whose vision isn't fully realized. I never played before 1.0 so i can't comment on the drastic changes made to the map. I would recommend this game, especially on sale, to fans of the factory genre looking for a new experience or new optimization puzzles that are a little different from what's offered by Factorio or Satisfactory (the gold standards of the genre). Techtonica definitely has something fun to offer despite it's issues, those being some minor bugs and a some potential small frustrations with a lack of QoL features. The sand levels due have the potential to frustrate if you're not prepared. Using the Techtonica Calculator website and it's maps is recommended. Total actual playtime to 100% is about 60 hrs on easy, which is the experience I would recommend.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,419 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I so very much wanted to like this game after enjoying Satisfactory. I did like it initially. BUT THE TEDIUM GOT ME! Every. single. thing. must. be. built. by. manual. placement. The only semi automatic placement is structural elements and your tech tree items. WHY!? the building was tedious. the expansion was tedious. (drilling never really felt good, and was all but mandatorially manual.) the new tech was tedious. (welp! gotta rebuild my tedious factory now to allow for the different tech options!) Besides the incredibly tedious gameplay, the difficulty made very little sense. There is a difficulty jump in the mid-late game that EVERYONE hates. and it makes no sense. Put that at the end as a type of climactic conclusion to your otherwise smooth progression and challenge curve! The devs messed up with that. It feels like they knew their ending was bad so they added a mountainous climb before the actual ending so you wouldn't GET to the actual ending. The artwork/animation was good. The sounds/music was good. The characters were good (not an easy accomplishment with an automation game). But the glaring issues with the tedium element not being addressed and the difficulty arc made it so I couldn't even finish it. I got to the soft ending, saw the mountainous final ending and quit. I have better games to spend my time on.

friend got me this wish he did not waste his money quite possibly the worst/laggiest factory game i have ever played, The story is annoying the damn cube never shuts up, oh you built 100 conveyer belts again let me tell you how much of an accomplishment that is for the 30th time.
its like satisfactory but its easier to understand
I actually like this game! I'm not sure why so many people are against it. It's a nice factory game with a compelling story. It would need some refinement here and there, but the game is there. So sad the developers gave up. After finishing the game, I am more aligned with most of review: the ending levels are just annoying as hell. you reach a point in which I just had to let my pc there (fans screaming in pain) to just get the production going for hours and hours. it suffers from what is the most common problem of the genre. the scaling up of everything you've done multiple times or... wait. It could be a great game with just some fine tuning.
It's a Game, I guess
For everyone that might want to ever play this game, it wasn't abandoned by the DEV's it was Finished by Them, The ones to Abandon it were the Players that don't understand that if you put your Reviews to negative nobody is going to buy the game, and if nobody is going to buy the game, the devs don't get money from sales since there is no sales, money is needed to continue development, no money no development And for Future Buyers, do Buy the Game, Play The Game and Give it a Good Review, Know that it has problems, but would you rather have this game in state it is? or Don't have it at all?
it's satisfactory but missing a lot of what makes it great, mainly : sound, good UI and clear view. You are in a cave with no lights and everything has some alien yellow and pink. you can build a base but it's not that enjoyable, I will try again another day, for now I am stuck at the progression of the first tier, you have to wait 25 min for it to unlock ...
