About
Build and decorate your tavern, hire staff, stock your larder, meet the locals, be the boss and run the show! Whether you keep a cosy neighbourhood taphouse or a lean, mean gold-minting machine, the choices - and consequences - are yours.

Dozens of intertwined game systems create unpredictable emergent situations. Dirt, heat, noise, flammability, sickness and of course, a parade of colourful customers all keep the unexpected coming.

Today’s situation: Half of your staff are in bed with sleep-sickness. Orders are piling up and patrons’ tempers are getting heated. So is the tavern - because it’s on fire! A spark from a broken lantern landed on just the wrong patch of dirt with no one around to notice. Oops, perhaps it’s time to call the fire brigade...
An expansive narrative campaign lets you build taverns across a vibrant world full of your favourite fantasy cultures. Each new location brings fresh challenges and surprising stories. Meet immortal elementals, outwit halfling philosophers and aid a crazed orc inventor.

Experience a magical storybook fully-narrated by Steven Pacey. Encounter hundreds of bite-sized stories with a surprise at every turn. There’s always someone needing the guidance of a Tavern Keeper like you. What choices will you make?
Decorate every nook and hollow of your tavern to create everything from bustling taprooms to relaxing reading corners. Place and manipulate thousands of items anywhere with complete creative freedom and make the tavern of your dreams.

Go beyond decorating and become a master artisan by using Tavern Keeper’s powerful Design Mode to craft unique furnishings. Combine pieces, add magical effects, then share your creations with the Tavern Keeper community.

Play the single-player campaign your way with adjustable game mechanics and storyteller settings or play in Freeplay for a custom challenge. Pick Challenging and strategize over every decision, barely making it through each day, or play a Relaxed game running the tavern of your dreams without pressure. The choice is yours.
Made by Greenheart Games 💚 (Game Dev Tycoon), a tiny independent team, Tavern Keeper is a passion project more than a decade in the making. Reviews
they added a lot of clutter to distract from the fact that the game is super boring
Easy to understand, but it gets progressively more complex. Fun and very entertaining; hours fly by while you're playing. On the downside, I think money sometimes accumulates very slowly, making it difficult to progress with construction, and there's limited space for decorating if you want to use all the amenities. I'd like to be able to automate the purchase of drinks and ingredients somehow. There's still more content to be added, but it has a lot of potential.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

its pretty good, price is a bit high but the devs are cool so whatever
I can't recommend this game just yet as it's still a bit too early, there are a lot of areas that need tidying up, but I have every faith in these developers and I am sure I will change this review as updates arrive. I'm having a a lot of light fun with it so far myself and I'm happy that I spent my own money supporting these guys, but there are too many glitches around placing items etc that I wouldn't be happy telling my friends to spend money on this product just yet - it's a little too 'early access' at the moment. I love the way they're developing story and RPG style gameplay choices alongside the management side of this game, but the way items are placed is very frustrating at the moment and the design mode is almost unusable for me.
For an early-access release, this game already has tons of well-developed, playable content. I thoroughly enjoyed playing through the available campaign, and now I’m having just as much fun in free play. My favorite feature is the Item Workshop, where I can create custom decorations and even fully functional furniture. There’s also already a great community, with lots of user-created décor that you can download and add to your game. The developers are incredibly responsive and actively engage with player feedback, which makes me even more excited for the full release and everything that comes afterward. I honestly can’t say enough good things about this game!
Not worth $30. The tutorial is a bit buggy. Inventory management is not the best. The NPC employees sometimes will not do what they should for example not turn on the heater when they are doing nothing and complaining it is cold. The story line is excessive and not that interesting. some of the patrons bug out and get their drink then just stand there and ruin your entire order counter until you kick them out. Staff will say they are cold while sleeping in between two turned on heaters Putting staff on at night to do multiple jobs and they will just not clean and stand around doing nothing even when highly rated cleaners. The UI is decent but not the best too many times you have to click into individuals or click out and back into things that should be linked IE: the schedule for employees does not link to operating hours. For sure not worth $30, spend $10-15. I have bought games for $10 that have their systems better built out. The biggest plus to this game is customizing the decorations however that does not have much use in game.
I have really enjoyed this game for the last couple of weeks. Just completed the story line so far and cannot wait for the rest! I think the devs have done a great job and it looks like they will be adding several more levels and features to the game that I am really looking forward to. I encountered no bugs, the narration was great, I love the details and the ability to create my own decorations, etc. I have almost 29 hours played (and I am sure I will have many more in the future), so I feel at less than $1 an hour to have fun is well worth the price of the game! Great job devs, keep it up!
This was everything I was looking for in a fantasy simulation game! It's not your regular restaurant story, it's got a bit of D&D elements and mini stories that are really charming and well-voiced, customer situations that can get quite chaotic, but in the end if you've got a good team you'll manage to get through the night with a bit of coin to recover for the next day. Dave the Diver's sushi restaurant but in full fledged fantasy inn glory. Love that it has a hotel feature too. Super psyched to see 1.0 release and play more. The level of customization is unreal, I love that it gives us a bit of an intro to 3D modelling without making it overly complicated.
