Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP

(game not complete and dropped at about 20 minutes of gameplay, part of my review all my games effort) (short version) I only played for 20 minutes because of a review that was 6+ hours. After "playing" for 20 minutes I still have no idea what's going on. I'd say there's good music, but that'd be a lie as I didn't hear any music where I was. Here's the deal. IF you're making a niche game you need to help the player, at least until they understand what they're doing. That's why tutorials exist, if the player needs to read a guide within the first 10 minutes, you made a bad game. Players don't need "open the menu equip the weapon", but they do need more than "tip tap???" $8 is too much as you'll more than likely refund this game.

I played this gem a long time ago, when it 1st came out. I held the regret of not finishing it for all this time, maybe I should have left it unfinished? Considering the forlorn nature o the story. I finally got the courage to play it, thanks to the nature of the steam deck. If by some chance you come across this piece of art now lost in time, I highly recommend that you play it.

Absolutely goated, and has a banger soundtrack. (only 6 hours because many of mine were on the mobile version)

Cute game with some nice jams by a man named Jim. The dialogue had me cracking open a dictionary for some of the words but its was worth the search.

A point and click game about.. something? I enjoyed this game at first, but man, it got very boring quite fast. Honestly, I beat it out of spite. Which is a shame, because there is so much it does well. The pixel art is top notch. The animations are all so smooth. The deer running into the background is done so well, as is removing gear and taking off the sword belt. The vibe of the game is great. Good music. But then it's accompanied by so much boring gameplay. There was a screen I had to go to several times to accomplish something, and every time I had to fight the same boring enemy on the way into that screen, and then on the way back. There is so much walking to beat the game. I found myself answering text messages, or even writing this review, while walking somewhere. The time for each boss to start the encounter and go through each phase is unbareable. It's like a solid minute of warm up for the first phase. I dunno, I just can't really recommend it.
