Sunless Sea is a captivating experience that's perfect for anyone looking for a story rich with lore, an interesting world to explore, and dying at zee. 8.7/10 would have my crew starve to death again.
This one has everything that I should love but I don't. It's weird how I liked Cultist Simulator better, eventhough that's just some cards on a table. The artstyle, the excessive writing about things leading nowhere, the pacing, the lackluster AI, most of its features and mechanics, nothing really feels like it's quite what it needs to be to work. All the pieces are there, the puzzle is just kinda off kilter.
Rich and heavy storytelling, which I love. Maybe not for everyone, but certainly scratches that certain niche itch for me. Excellent game. SIde note: Zubmariner DLC is HEAVILY recommended. It is unreal how amazing this DLC is, the underzee is gorgeous. I'd say buy it for your 2nd/3rd playthrough.
