Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.57/day in the week to Aug 10 → 0.57/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I adore this game, it's really important to me--one of my absolute favorites. Sometimes i'll play it just to hear the music or feel the ambiance, I wish i could experience it for the first time again!
I enjoyed Sunless Sea and the world its set in, but a lot of frustrating and tedious gameplay aspects became apparent almost immediately. At first, I championed the idea of a story-based RPG roguelike, but quickly I regretted that. This game repeatedly tells you to play it on a permadeath mode, which means you lose your save when you die. This adds tension and means you get to play it just a little bit differently with the next captain you play. It adds to the atmosphere in the setting: the Sunless Sea feels dangerous and it makes succeeding all the more impressive. It does, however, fail in some regards. While I greatly enjoyed soaking in the atmosphere, I didn't enjoy having to replay certain story quests with seemingly little difference between the previous playthrough. I see that there are some choices and branching paths but they often fall in the "good" and "basically softlocking yourself bad" categories. Sunless Sea is a story, and an interactive one at that. It is also a game, which means that there is a "winning" and "losing". As much as I tried roleplaying a veteran captain who tried his luck on the unforgiving Zee, I kept thinking about just how bad I was screwing myself over with certain choices, and occasionally dipped into the wiki and forums to find out what I was doing wrong and how I could do things better. I understand that this might also just be a "me-problem", but I feel that the games tedium and, in my opinion, poor replayability really hurts it as a roguelike. I should mention that I did watch that Rock Paper Shotgun youtube video on Sunless Sea, defending the roguelike design and the tedium as an achievement, not a flaw. I almost agree with it in theory, but in practice I feel like maybe there's a reason Fallen London started as a text-based browser game.

I absolutely love this game. The worldbuilding, atmosphere and visuals are all outstanding. I adore the narrative style -- it's relentlessly gothic, intelligent and beautiful. I wanted to explore it all. I remember when I first bought it back in 2016, the combat was a bit frustrating -- it never felt worth it to engage. When I went back to it years later it seemed to have been tweaked to be easier, which was a welcome change. Combat still feels challenging, at least when you're starting out, but not as hopeless as it once did. Exploration feels rewarding, and honestly I just enjoyed steaming around from point A to B. The music and the atmosphere are perfect. There's always a degree of tension, between your fuel reserves and the gradual increase of terror, which feels well-balanced. You have to be strategic about your routes, ever mindful of your supplies. I can't count the number of times I barely scrapped into port, running on fumes. I enjoyed every minute.
理论上我应该是要喜欢这种游戏来的。但是实际上玩下来剧情的获取被低质量的玩法拖累太多了。
I cannot say enough good things about this game, the story and immersion are exceptional. It fits right into a very niche part of what I enjoy in video games.
Many people apparently love this game. The story part just didn't do it for me. so I would not recomend it. But not an awful game. I just had other things I would rather play.
The game is slow and tedious. The roguelike aspect doesn't really serve much purpose, because you play the same way each run. The available storylines on each island are the same each run, and most of the options available are explored with 2-3 captains. I'm yet to explore "the end-game" storylines, but it takes too much grinding to get to them. Combat gets boring quite quick, and the random events are pretty uninspired. If you play safe, you will never die, but if you take risks, you might lose to a random event.
Awesome Game, Needs Economy Balancing
I love this game. I've played it dozens of times and never completed it with a character because the economy is way out of balance. Maybe you can get the meta route working, but this is explicitly an exploration game and not a trading game, yet the economy is the biggest hurdle to progressing your exploration. I recommend editing your save file to give yourself enough money so you'll never have to worry about it, and just enjoy the stories and exploration. That's what I'm doing now and I've never had a better time in a game I already loved.
