Yes it's bad. But dit you wondered how this game got in the state that it is? Well here's your answer the 2008 Crash. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S8rBcwNsN_o (22:15 for the relevant information) And if you watch the entire documentary you will clearly see that they are not proud of Stronghold 3 and they dont even give it its own segment. So don't go and point fingers at the devs and rather at idiot finance people.
ruined what was once an amazing game! wouldnt bother buying it

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

This entry is a disgrace on Stronghold and Firefly should be ashamed. Unfinished, buggy, very small, very few maps. Barely updated graphics, same models and voice lines as the last two games from nearly two decades ago. It's just sad. Stronghold is one of my favorite series and I wish somebody would put some love into it.
Not even with a 90% discount. I only played the single player campaign, it's very dull, feels slow and unfinished. Just buy literally any other Stronghold game instead.
played this before and it lacked everything they set it for just a 1 times play through then through away. this one could have easily been the best if they put all into it like in 2 and warlords combined. sad
At first this seems like a really fun game and it definitely has the bones of a fun game, but is horribly bogged down by lots of bugs that were never fixed and a very poor explanation of game mechanics. Terrible unit pathing that causes guys to get stuck on terrain and castle architecture. Enemy AI is so pathetic that a lot of the time they just sit outside your castle letting you rain arrows down on them. A codex that barely explains the functionality of many buildings and provides useless descriptions. I got through most of the military campaign and some of the economic. Even on hard there is just no challenge. The story is sort of interesting, but is in absolutely no position to carry the game. Play something else.
Free build is fun and that's about it. Like every other review, it is nothing like the previous Stronghold types. And at this point in the year 2026, there are plenty of other medieval city builders (Manor Lords being the leader currently) that offer a much, much better experience than this ever could. Shame how the series turned out.
Feels abit empty than stronghold 2
It's unbelievable , this game is piece of junk. Amount of bugs is so huge that I personally think that whoever was working on this did that on porpoise. This is like more a beta version of final product, like they lost budget for accomplishing the project. I played it only becuase I love Stronghold 2. Playing this was painfull experience
Absolute disapointment, they even managed to make the story bad. Its missing all the features that made the originals good. Play literally, any other stronghold game than this one.
