la pantalla se pone en negro a la mitad del juego, ya probé con jugar otra partida y sigue con el mismo problema
Compared to the first game... This is not a good game, I wouldn't recommend it.
Involves all the characters from Still Life, bring your pen and paper to play this game, you'll need it. Uses the killers forest home as a stage for the plot. I love a good house to solve a mystery in. This is the third installment, Post Mortem and Still Life preced this title.

Still Life 2 is half the game Still Life 1 used to be. Don't waste your time.
Still Life 2, developed and published by Microids, is a dark, atmospheric point-and-click adventure that continues the story of FBI agent Victoria McPherson in her relentless pursuit of a serial killer. As the sequel to the cult classic Still Life, it aims to expand the narrative and introduce more interactive gameplay elements, taking the story from the cold streets of Chicago to the eerie woods of Maine. Released in 2009, the game embraces a grittier tone and a more cinematic structure, merging traditional detective investigation with survival-style tension. While it succeeds in deepening its psychological intrigue and broadening its perspective, it also struggles under the weight of technical issues and uneven pacing that occasionally undermine its potential. The story picks up after the events of the first Still Life, with Victoria still haunted by the unsolved Chicago case that mirrored her grandfather’s investigations decades earlier. Determined to bring closure to her torment, she becomes obsessed with tracking down the new serial killer known as the “East Coast Killer,” whose crimes echo the same chilling brutality. The plot intertwines her investigation with the plight of Paloma Hernandez, a journalist who has been kidnapped by the murderer while covering the case. The game alternates between Victoria’s perspective as she pieces together clues and Paloma’s struggle to escape captivity, creating a tense rhythm between cerebral detective work and desperate survival. This dual narrative structure adds dimension to the story, effectively blending procedural crime-solving with visceral fear. It gives the player two lenses through which to experience the horror—one through intellect and analysis, the other through helpless vulnerability. As an adventure game, Still Life 2 retains the core mechanics of its predecessor while venturing into more interactive territory. Players explore environments, gather evidence, and solve a variety of logic and forensic puzzles to move the investigation forward. Victoria’s segments are slow, methodical, and steeped in realism, requiring attention to detail and patience to interpret clues and assemble theories. Paloma’s sequences, by contrast, are tense and claustrophobic, often involving time-sensitive puzzles and quick decision-making under pressure. This alternating gameplay dynamic keeps the experience varied and helps sustain suspense throughout the campaign. While the investigative sections are the backbone of the experience, the survival elements add emotional weight, making Paloma’s ordeal feel personal and immediate. The game also offers multiple outcomes depending on player performance, though the differences are largely limited to the final moments. Visually, Still Life 2 makes the leap from the pre-rendered backgrounds of the original to full 3D environments. The change allows for greater freedom of camera movement and interaction but comes with noticeable trade-offs in quality. The textures are often rough, character models somewhat stiff, and animations mechanical. Despite these shortcomings, the game still manages to cultivate a strong sense of atmosphere through lighting and art direction. The environments—sprawling crime scenes, desolate forests, and the killer’s labyrinthine lair—are filled with moody shadows and fine details that evoke unease. The use of color, particularly the stark contrast between Victoria’s sterile investigative spaces and Paloma’s dimly lit prison, reinforces the emotional divide between logic and fear. The sound design complements this with eerie ambient noises, footsteps echoing through empty halls, and the unsettling hum of distant machinery. The voice acting, though uneven, captures the exhaustion and intensity of Victoria’s character and the desperation of Paloma’s situation, grounding the narrative even when the visuals falter. From a storytelling standpoint, Still Life 2 carries forward the series’ themes of obsession, trauma, and moral ambiguity. Victoria’s character is explored with greater psychological depth as her professional dedication begins to blur into personal compulsion. Her obsession with catching the killer reflects not only her pursuit of justice but also her attempt to reclaim control over a case that has haunted her career and her psyche. Paloma’s arc, meanwhile, provides an emotionally charged counterpoint, portraying survival not through strength but through vulnerability and intellect. The game’s script often veers into grim realism, unafraid to depict violence and psychological torment in a manner that feels unsettlingly human. This approach gives Still Life 2 a tone closer to a cinematic thriller than a traditional adventure game, though its pacing occasionally suffers as a result. Unfortunately, the game’s ambition is tempered by noticeable flaws in execution. The shift to 3D introduced clunky controls and awkward camera angles that make navigation cumbersome, particularly in tight or detailed areas. The interface is sometimes unintuitive, forcing players to pixel-hunt for small interactive objects hidden in dark corners. Some puzzles are well-designed and logical, but others rely on trial and error or obscure solutions that can break immersion. The inclusion of timed sequences—intended to heighten tension—sometimes comes across as frustrating rather than suspenseful, punishing the player with abrupt failure states. Technical instability, including minor bugs and long load times, also affects the flow. Despite these issues, the game’s pacing remains generally engaging due to the alternating perspectives and escalating stakes. Still Life 2 ultimately stands as an ambitious yet uneven sequel that expands the original’s narrative universe while struggling with the limitations of its design. It offers a deeper emotional experience and a more complex structure, inviting players to engage with both the logic of investigation and the fear of entrapment. Though its mechanics can feel dated and its visuals lack polish, it succeeds where it matters most: atmosphere, tension, and storytelling. For fans of crime thrillers and mystery adventures, the game delivers a dark, mature narrative filled with moral ambiguity and psychological intensity. While it may not achieve the haunting elegance of its predecessor, it remains a compelling continuation—one that captures the uneasy beauty of obsession, justice, and the fragile line that separates detective from victim. Rating: 5/10
I've played it a couple times and I am starting to remember how to do different things.
9 hours in and there is a black screen bug that has no fix for modern computers.
