STAR WARS™ Battlefront II (Classic, 2005)

WOW. This IS battlefront. No microtransactions, loot boxes, or anything. Its good even by todays standards

Ah original Battlefront 2. This is a game that I spent much of my early childhood playing on my PS2. I think I have the original case somewhere, but I had ended up playing it so much that I had to get a brand new disc. Great nostalgia.

Certified hood classic. STILL plays fresh and exciting, even in 2026. Sure, the controls and the shooting are a bit clunky, but this is a 2004 XBOX port. Would not recommend to get this game for multiplayer, it doesn't have many working servers (1 in EU, i guess a couple in the US). Singeplayer campaign is simple, but does provide some enjoyment and a grim, sad plotline. Gamemode that deserves most attention is Galactic Conquest. Galactic Conquest is a turn based strategy game mode, in which you get the chance to fight for control of the whole galaxy. Step by step, you choose what planets to capture. With the spoils of war, you purchase various buffs and unlock new types of soldiers ('cause from the beginning there are only basic troopers at your disposal to fight and die for the cause) and wreck havoc on those who oppose you. Honorable mention is space battles, where the goal is to destroy the enemy's flagship and other spacecraft. Quick and smashing space dogfights brought me a lot and i mean A LOT of fun times. There are various approaches to how you can deal with the enemy fleet. From straight up just hunting down all spacecraft on your fighter, to storming the ship and destroying it from the inside and bombing the flagship, tearing it apart. To this day, if i have nothing to play, i can launch some space missions and have fun, while chatting it up with the boys on discord. Buy this aged-like-wine game on sale and enjoy everything it has to offer.

[h1] Закономерное продолжение серии [/h1] Это сейчас принято от слова "Батлфронт" плеваться, благодаря выходу ремастера, а раньше это была ничего себе игра! Ну в целом по отличиям от первого "Батлфронта": Во-первых появились полноценные миссии в космосе на звездолётах. Крутая фишка для тех, кто скучает по космосимам 80-х. Во-вторых, скайуокера знаешь? Я обучал.))) А если серьезно ключевые персонажи саги, они же боссы, бывшие в первой части неуправляемыми и неубиваемыми болванчиками теперь являются вполне себе играбельными персами. В третьих, у игры был поправлен баланс (и честно говоря не в лучшую сторону). Лично я по сюжету застрял на миссии захвата Зала Джедаев и так и не хватило у меня нервов её пройти. Что же нам предстоит? Ну здесь есть классический сюжетный режим, охватывающий самые ключевые моменты саги, есть также режим "конквест", то есть захват галактики, и есть сетевой, который, к сожалению не работает, по крайней мере в этой части игры. [b] В целом игру могу порекомендовать, но запаситесь тепрением и нужно понимать, что у вас будет только сюжетный режим, кооп не работает ребятушки. Берём по скидке [/b]

It would be really nice if Steam would do controller support for this game. I tried to get it working but you just about need a degree in computer science to get it working. Using a keyboard for this game is a chore and no fun at all.
