Mass thumb-downed due to having a female lead, HOWEVER, its still mid. If you like the OG star wars a lot, you should be fine.
Not terrible but not great ether, Id say this game got really bad reviews cus the ai is a lil cheesy, the main characters face design is mildly boring and the performance even now is bad, not horrendously bad like at release witth the crashing but its still bad, a manually overclocked 5080 shouldnt be struggling to get 65-70 fps with dlss quality when I dont even have all the settings maxed (and I know its not a cpu bottleneck the gpu utilization its 97%+ all the time). they optimized this heavily to rely on framegen to make it a playable experience. lazy devs do that. greedy investors push that. its why the stock price for ubi is terrible rn. ONLY BUY ON A STEEP SALE like I did. not worth even close to full price even if you have a expensive pc build. if it never went on big sales every now and again, Id say dont bother buying this, youll be disappointed with it at full cost.

The game isnt that bad
It's a really good game, I had a lot of fun, and the story and characters were interesting, I especially like the little alien companion dude "nix" he's adorable and a really smart way of allowing the player to perform advanced actions and navigate through the world without the powers of a Jedi. Ship combat was fairly good, though I do have to say that there are better games for that, planetside is where the game truly shines, the contracts, balancing the reputation with all the different syndicates, it's actually so good it had me wishing there were 4 more planets to visit, I've finished the main story and the game dlc story, only have the pirate story left so I hope this one is a doozy, would have been great if there was a newgame+ or some extra end-game content beyond just "collect all the loot" type stuff. There were a few times during my 50+ hour playthrough where the game glitched etc. but I'm used to playing Skyrim so... it didn't bother me, it might bother you.
This game is a 'lil nugget. I like to think of it as being a mix of assassins creed, mass effect and grand theft auto. Except set in the Star Wars universe. Graphics are REALLY pretty, audio is incredible. It CAN get a little monotonous with all the side quests and achievements, but again, assassins creed and grand theft auto were no different. The main drawback is how buggy it is when playing on PC (Which I hear is not the case when playing on console.) While ingame it's not too bad, you really need to jump on a few forums to figure out how to change a few settings on your machine, otherwise you're going to have a bad time, no matter how powerful you PC is. If you can get past that, people who love the star wars universe, and a good stealth based adventure with a bunch of lasers, spaceships and fast paced explosions thrown in will absolutely enjoy this.
I don't know why this game got so much hate in the first place. Except for a few bugs that don't occur often, everything is great; the story, the gameplay, etc. The difficulty is challenging and entertaining, I definitely recommend :)
