South of Midnight

TL;DR: South of Midgnight is a beautiful crafted game, with a good story, good characters, fantastic voice overs and an insanely good soundtrack. The graphics are also very good looking. It's a more linear type of game, where you are playing chapter to chapter and see how the story unfolds. For me personally, it felt more like an action 3D-platformer, than a action type of game. Yes, you have your fights and bosses, but it's not that big of a part of the game. Therefore it felt a bit clunky and unpolished at times. The platforming itself was okay-ish - nothing to crazy. And very light puzzle-solving. Having collectibles keeps you just enough interessted to keep exploring the world. So after all, I really enjoyed playing the game, and having the old school southern style blues music as the soundtrack might be one of the biggest sellingpoints. Maybe you shouldn't expect too much from this game (like me). With 12 - 20h worth of playtime (depending on your playsyle) it's definitly not overstaying it's welcome. Very easy to play and beat on a weekend.

До того как увидел игру в магазине, ничего о ней не знал. Посмотрел ролики, проникся историей. Даже не задумывался приобретать или нет, или ожидать какой-то приемлемой скидки, сразу купил, не жалею. Понравилась история, рисовка, музыка. Да были шероховатости в геймплее, но они были мизерные. Сейчас я закончил историю, не на 100%, возможно когда ни будь я вернусь чтобы это добить.

Great story -telling, and fun to play. I recommend this game to everyone.

Absolutely beautiful, with great music, immediately likeable protagonist and interesting story. Folktales of the american south are an amazing choice for a theme, not only are they vibrant and rich, but also new and largely unexplored to an European like me. Not every day one can be immersed in a completely new mythology, and South of Midnight scratches the itch for something different! The combat can be quite challenging, but the game has so many options to tailor difficulty level to your own skills, even going as far as skipping boss battles or certain sequences. Everyone can make it hard for themselves or just sit back and enjoy the story and art.

Fabuła bardzo wciągająca,poziom trudnosni prawie największy i każda walka mega oddaje generalnie jedna z najlepszy gier które udało mi się ukończyć Polecam serdecznie :D

The art style was incredible and the Protag was inspiring to see her grow in the story. I do wish it was longer with some characters in fight and calmer scenes of the game.
