I thought winning the tournament was going to just be the start but it turns out that it's the end. I loved the concept and feel but I really think there needs to be more to each run. I'm not going to refund because I think the dev has something special here but PLEASE add more.
Sure there is less content and variety than many other roguelikes, but for less than the cost of a pack of crumpets it gave me a good bit of enjoyment. It definitely hits the power fantasy of being an amateur blader finding the pieces to make your god combo and beat all your opponents. Worst case scenario you can look at the game as free, runs are so short and you can get almost everything you could want out of the game before the 2 hour refund period. I will not be refunding though out of respect for the devs and this fun bey- I mean Slayblade experience they have given us and hope for the future that they add more content even tho it is not at all expected for the price point.

The game is very simple to the point that you don't even really get a tutorial, Trying out different combos, the modifiers you get as you rank up, and the simple gameplay loop makes this game pretty fun to just do a couple runs and try to complete some of the special episodes
The game felt like a demo Theres modifiers after you beat the first run but that is really boring I thought the game would go on for a lot longer than it did, and it was incredibly anti climatic when it didnt deliver on that It was fun for a moment but only a moment
"there's not enough content in this $7 aud indie game"
Im gonna 100% this because I already made up my mind and want to see it through but i cannot recommend the chapters where your own top is automated. The AI is sooooooo bad, its unbelievable, its not even "bad rng", most of the time you fly out of the map for no reason and others you draw because you spend 7 minutes drawing circles with your opponent, there is no skill involved and no tactic to follow because you dont know what you play against. Plus the AI doesnt go for cubes, which is the only defining factor to win matches. I dunno man, really wanted to like this and the game is cheap but I feel like those 3/4 chapters are too annoying to complete.
this aint it
Satisfying gameplay, love the control system in the game. Sunk a lot of time into the demo and am looking forward to playing more with the new modifiers.
If you ever wanted to scratch that itch of letting it rip and battling top-tier 'blades, this is easily worth your time. It took me a bit to get used to the mechanics (and to realize holding the left mouse button does nothing!), but for $5, it delivers a solid 2–3 hours of pure enjoyment. Smashing tops together is as buttery smooth as spreading jam on a crumpet. Fantastic job, Oscar!
