[b]Skeletal Avenger delivers a fast-paced roguelite experience built around chaotic melee combat, satisfying enemy-clearing abilities, and the wonderfully ridiculous premise of playing as a reanimated skeleton. There is something immediately enjoyable about charging into rooms, smashing through enemies, and watching the battlefield turn into a pile of bones. The combat itself is responsive and energetic, with attacks and abilities providing enough impact to make clearing groups of enemies feel satisfying. Unfortunately, the biggest problem is how quickly that loop begins to repeat itself. Runs can start feeling very familiar, with the same types of encounters and objectives appearing often enough that the initial excitement gradually wears off. Build variety is another major weakness. While there are upgrades to experiment with, the number of genuinely distinct builds feels limited.
