Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.14/day in the week to Aug 18 → 0/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

There are two things to appreciate: 1. this game really tries a different approach compared to other ones from the series, mostly utilising a gameplay around riddles rather than "deduction" or just go-and-fetch tasks 2. all subsequent Frogware's games are better, meaning they constantly evolve There are some examples of a ridiculousness of this one: 1. you need to attract a certain bird and you already know how, but you cannot collect needed objects until you find a quite obscure interactive point which gives you zero new information 2. you need to look at 4 paintings in a gallery and you know exactly which ones are they, but you cannot progress until you speak with a character who actually tells you nothing of importance 3. there is a hammer you cannot take until you are tasked to find a specific key. hammer, key, really clear connection, right? so the game tries to be clever but at the same time often looks so stupid that it is nauseating. and I like the fact that the next game about Jack the Ripper borrows characters' models from this one in abundance, just replacing textures. yeah, that were the times when Frogware was really cheap.

This one is better than previous 3-4 games but there's still work to be done. Have played many hidden object games, detective games, CYOA text adventures and so on and I very much appreciate games allowing for some degree of inference or using visually / contextually obvious clues. This title wants you clicking on all possible triggers: for example measuting footprints in museum by rapidly flailing roulette across them frantically clicking on every activation point imaginable (measuring actual texture wasn't working). Despite still feeling like the game I'm giving my honest attempt at playing, is not too far from barely working licensed product, stifled by technology of its time and quite possibly other constraints, there is something earning it a positive review. Specifically it is the following: - first-person controls that have all necessary actions so you don't need frankly abhorrent third-person camera anymore; - much better graphics, animation and dialogue; - art gallery has fairly good representations of period-accurate real artworks with what I can assume are mostly correct informational snippets. Art gallery alone gains this title a recommendation, even if gameplay itself is far from ideal.
Quite a few puzzles were genuinely difficult (thank goodness for guides) and some parts of the game tedious (especially the bird one omg) but I still really enjoyed it. I could feel the improvement from the previous game. Love being able to play in first person
.
