About
The SCP Foundation has gone dark. Disturbing intel from one of the many Foundation sites, Area-12, an underground biological research and containment facility in West Virginia, has been forwarded to an anomalous branch of the FBI, the Unusual Incidents Unit (UIU).
Upon arrival the UIU are ambushed and trapped within Area-12 by a facility wide lock-down, leaving you alone and without backup. For reasons yet unclear, Area-12 has adopted a new agenda: creating weaponized hybrids of anomalous creatures. Now the UIU must get to the bottom of “why” and stop them before these monstrosities are unleashed on innocent civilians.

Anomalies are reality-defying objects, artifacts and creatures that inhabit the cracks in our world. These anomalies are what the SCP Foundation was supposed to contain; and their anomalous nature makes them dangerous to the likes of you.

Notice: I’ll update this when/if I beat the entire game This game is terrible at worst, and pretty mediocre at best. Most of the gameplay is running around, trying to find out where to go, usually really slowly. Do be warned, the checkpoints in this game suck, with the second checkpoint being placed after a horrendously long section. This is extremely frustrating due to the combat (see my rant on that for why its bad) often causing you to lose all of your lives. The combat fluctuates in enjoyment at times, sometimes it feels really good, other times frustrating. One problem with the enemies is that their AI sucks, often running in random directions or getting stuck on props. The biggest problem though is their balancing: They can be very tanky at times while somehow being decently fast and doing absurd damage. It sucks a lot. But when you can reliably kill them (You can only reliably kill zombies and guards, but that still is not guaranteed due to the horrible balancing) it can be somewhat fun/satisfying. The combat is most fun while fighting against zombies and SCP Guards, but even then it can suck due to damage/balancing. I have a gripe with the zombies, they’re way too fast and do too much damage. Zombies also have a weird detached look to them, since the stand bent in weird ways with their feet barely touching the ground. The best parts of this game are the guns and visuals. The visuals and models are great looking and are extremely high-quality. The guns are very fun to play with (although, it's often ruined by the combat), and the guns look really good. As for the story, I’m only on the second level, so I can’t say. But from what I can tell, the story is barely there and isn’t really good. I’ll update this section if I finish the game. But if the story is awful as they say, then I’m devastated. SCP-5000 is one of the more unique scps I've seen and has limitless potential. That and the UIU is an underused group that deserves more attention. As an SCP fan and a general gamer, I'm pretty disappointed. My buds and I got got by the invisible, unkillable zombie. It increased our death count about 10-20x we would otherwise have. 10/10 would puzzle through the game being chased by the immortal snail again.

I really like the game even if it hasn't had many updates at all ever since I bought the game. The developers have made a post on steam meantioning that they've been focusing on the full 1.0 which I am very excited for since it promises a ton of new stuff. In meantime of them working on 1.0 I'll probably play other games, probably come back once In a while to play and just check how far they have come until 1.0 Is here. A splendidly great game in general!
