Scavenger SV-4 is a highly replayable atmospheric first-person science fiction game. Part simulator, part roguelike, it has elements of action, combat, resource management, and a dash of horror. It is not quite like any game you have played before.

This game, as short as some runs can be, is actually pretty fun. Can manage to keep an anxious feel if you're around long enough, though some of the horror can be avoided if you play it safe. But if you play it safe, you won't reap nearly the rewards. (Also I'm a sucker for games like this :3)
очень интересная игра и руссификатор её хорошо дополняет, но игре не хватает разнообразия

The player begins in orbit around an uncharted planet, deploying a rover from their ship to explore the surface and recover artifacts left behind by an unknown civilization. Along the way, you'll encounter hostile aliens and even turn their own technology against them. The game constantly forces you to balance greed against survival. Do you carry more loot, or bring extra equipment that helps you fight, stay alive, and more effectively discover some sh**? Every run is a struggle between hoarding more loot and a slow death from radiation. The story is told through the protagonist's backstory and the ending you receive after each expedition. Every time, you play someone driven by profit while an invisible threat—radiation—is always closing in. Whether you escape alive with a fortune or spend everything you've earned trying to recover from radiation sickness is entirely up to you. I got several successful runs out of the game, but unfortunately it offers very little in the way of tutorials. Without reading the official manual, you'll probably have a rough time. Thankfully, I took the time to go through it, and most of my expeditions ended successfully. That said, I don't think the game fully realizes its potential. It lacks meta-progression, which makes it hard to stay motivated to keep starting new runs—unless you're the kind of player who enjoys unlocking every ending (most of which are rather bleak). If you play carefully and efficiently, you'll likely miss a lot of the content and situations that seem designed to punish careless or inattentive players. The alien modules are one of the game's strongest features—each one can be installed on your rover and offers interesting possibilities. Unfortunately, the repetitive enemies and largely empty map don't create enough opportunities for truly interesting builds or strategies. Overall, Scavenger SV-4 is definitely worth checking out. It isn't a particularly long game, but it's full of interesting ideas, and I'll be looking forward to whatever this developer makes next.
--> This game runs in Manjaro Linux without proton or wine! <-- Well I admit that my instincts were right about this game. It's fun and interesting. FLOATING around the ship I had to figure out what was located and where. I called the rover into the bay and checked it. Looked good. I then sent the rover out to the planet surface. I turned on the viewer and saw a very gritty and camera like image that was sent back to me as I controlled it. The left side of the screen shows what the rover can do and you'll have to activate certain things to make it do what it needs to do. Apparently I was not close enough to an item that was right in front of me as I extended the arms out to grab it. Immediately I lost the signal with the rover! YIKES. For my first time, this was not only interesting but mesmerizing to say the least! What happened? I had to call the rover BACK to the ship. If the signal was lost I cannot see where or what the rover is doing or where it is. With what little I played so far this game is very well made. The movement of your character floats around the ship just like in space as well which is a nice touch. The ship has quite a few rooms with things you'll need should the case arise. Like I said this was my first rodeo and I found it very stimulating! I just wish I could use SHIFT and TAB to activate the steam menus but that didn't happen as the mouse cursor disappeared and I literally had to CTRL ALT and DELETE to bring up menus to take me back to the game properly. I HOPE this gets fixed in a later version as It would be nice to see what my friends are up to during game play. A VERY nice game Deric. I for one look forward to playing further!
I'm so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ tired of working my 5/2 that working near a radioactive planet seems like a good alternative.

somehow even though i dont find much lore stuff, the gameplay loop is VERY entertaining!! cant wait to discover more about the lore when i play more !!!!
Even tho game feels like it wasnt finished it is really fun. Routine doesnt feel exhausting, there are really big amount of epilogues and game throws you a bunch of content unseen earlier from time to time. I wish it was more polished
I got testicular cancer and then blew my ship up 10/10 game
