Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.14/day in the week to Jul 30 → 0.43/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Rocket Star Corporation DLC
In a near future ravaged by wars, corrupt regimes and devastating pollution, influential corporations have created the Genesis program in a last-ditch attempt to save humanity.
As the Captain of a Genesis starship, you journey into uncharted space on the ultimate mission. Build and manage a space vessel, farm resources, deal with terrifying alien infestations, clone creatures and explore a vast, randomly generated universe.
Go Rogue
Huge, randomised galaxies ensure every run in Genesis Alpha One is unique. Choose one of three difficulties or tailor the game to your playstyle with the Custom Game Mode. Discover new planets, circumvent asteroid fields and survive encounters with the Mechanics and Framen, space pirates who will board your ship to destroy your ship and all its inhabitants. Death is the end and once all your clones are dead, the mission is over. However, you will carry through artefacts unearthed into your next playthrough as well as unlock new corporations, making you more powerful with each attempt.
Build, Upgrade, Explore
Starting with a small vessel, you’ll have to build and maintain an intergalactic ark by combining dozens of upgradable spaceship modules including crew quarters, workshops, hangars, clone labs and greenhouses.
Using an intuitive building menu, easily snap together the pieces of your ship to tailor it to your playstyle. Develop your vessel and then explore your creation in first person.
Battle Alien Infestations
Alien infestations can spread quickly, contaminating the ship and crew. It’s imperative to wipe them out before you become overwhelmed and your ship is destroyed. An arsenal of weapons and defences can be researched to help you fight the alien threat. Unleash an array of powerful weaponry, research alien diseases to heal your crew, equip new abilities and deploy warbots to devastate the alien hordes.
Clone and Create New Lifeforms
As your ship grows, so must your crew. Using ground-breaking cloning technology, your crew will expand to meet the needs of the ship.
Loot DNA samples from the aliens you encounter across the galaxy and splice them with members of your crew to give humanity a chance to prosper with abilities far beyond what was previously imagined.
Delve Deep Into Vastness of Space For Valuable Resources
In order to expand your ship and sustain your crew, you must explore planets fraught with danger. Gather elements such as Copper and Uranium and harvest plants to sustain life aboard your vessel. You may also find alien artefacts and intel from those explorers that have gone before, and not lived to tell the tale.
Sums Steam only; GOG, Xbox, Epic publish no volume signal, so the true total is higher by an unknown amount.

This game is amazing, and it's not hard to explain why. It is a perfect mixture of sci-fi, horror, survival, exploration, shipbuilding, and crew management. There are no other games like this. The writing and lore implications are well-thought out, and the many different endings can be both incredible and terrifying at times. This game scratches a certain gaming itch I never knew I had. Which is why it’s frustrating that it feels like the devs have moved on and don’t really want to support it anymore. NO UPDATES? NO MULTIPLAYER? NO MOD SUPPORT? Come on. HOW ABOUT A GENESIS ALPHA TWO? Idk, perhaps Team17 just doesn’t see it as worth the effort because they’ve got bigger titles like Overcooked, Dredge, Hell Let Loose, and Golf With Your Friends. I’m not into those games, but I recognize them due to their popularity. But this is the only game from this publisher that I’ve actually played. also check out this huge ship I built on console: https://www.reddit.com/r/GenesisAlphaOneGame/comments/wz02g4/my_version_of_the_uss_genesis/
Really cool and unique idea that I wish existed in other games. The idea of exploring open space with a ship and crew of clones you customize over time, looking for different resources and fighting off pirate boarding parties is an extremely interesting one, especially in first person with 3D graphics. Unfortunately, it feels very unfinished. The constant infestation spread in your ship just becomes more and more of a chore over time, fighting enemies is like original Doom, but everything is a bullet sponge, your crew doesn't help you with any combat, and the one aspect that feels like it's supposed to be the long-term progression (unlocking new cloning genes) is very slow and doesn't seem to make much of a difference. I barely progressed along it before finishing the story and, by then, I was just tired of spending most of my time micro-managing the "automated" turrets and manually dealing with eggs. Then checked the store page and realized it's already abandoned.

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 17: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

This is a very hard game to review, because I have very mixed feelings - please let me explain. This game is terrible at being amazing. Ok, the explanation: The idea of flying through space as the last hope to save our species from extinction is overused but a cool idea. To complete this mission you will be building a living breathing ship that you populate with clones and command them as your crew, this is exquisite. You collect Alien DNA and splice it together and create hybrid clones which have unique benefits and drawbacks - pretty damn awesome. You take excursions to alien planets to mine resources and explore derelict ships and crashed satellites for new tech and unlocks for subsequent games, my blood pressure spikes with excitement just thinking about it. You fight off space pirates trying to board your ship and murder you or steal your resources, I've fought bravely but i've also run like a coward - fire up the hyperdrive and jump to the nearest star. Shields barely held as I hid in the suns corona (I know, even being a coward is badass). Your crew get sick and infected from diseases and parasites which you have to research and develop the cures and Alien bacteria or insects can board your ship and infest it, with devastating consequences if you do not take proactive action to routinely sweep the ship... I mean this game sounds like it was conceived from some illicit activity between the brain waves of Peter Molyneux and John Carmack. ... This game is bad at executing nearly every one of those concepts.... It is such a shame, because there is clearly talent in the making of this game, but it felt like an amazing ambition was abandoned for reasons we will never know. I love this game, but I wouldn't want you to be disappointed. Think about that before you purchase it please.
This game is trash and fun at the same time. It feels sluggish and unpolished and yet it scratched an itch I didn't know I had. Building your space ship (or more space station) in an strategic efficient way, fighting alien infestations, finding new blueprints and gathering resources created a gameplay loop that kept me invested enough. One of those games you grab on sale and be surprised of the fun later on.
The NPC clones in Genesis Alpha One feel very limited once you understand how the green gas/aliens spawn and spread through your ship. At that point, you often end up just standing around watching as the clones slowly handle the threats—usually taking far too long to do so. Clones can manage aliens reasonably well when they're contained inside the refinery. However, loose aliens that spawn at the ore deposits have free rein across the ship unless you proactively block them off with turrets or shields. As for green gas rank 3 clones do allow NPCs to destroy spore nests that happen to be directly in their path, but that's the only scenario where they act on them. Otherwise, they completely ignore the nests. Once spores make it into the crawl spaces, only you (the player) can deal with them effectively. My biggest pet peeve is the clones' slow reactions, overall limitations, and purely reactionary behavior. They won't take initiative or go out and handle problems proactively—something has to happen right in front of them (or in their assigned work area) before they'll respond. This turns infestation management into a tedious chore where you're constantly babysitting the ship instead of exploring or expanding. A few quality-of-life suggestions that would make a huge difference: Add dedicated buildings like a Security Room where clones could work in shifts, actively roaming the station as patrols. Or an Engineering/Janitor Room that sends clones into crawl spaces to repair damaged energy nodes (a nice nod to games like Dead Space). Even better, let security clones handle some of the maintenance and cleanup duties too. These changes would reduce the amount of manual intervention required and make the crew feel like a more capable, self-sustaining team rather than passive workers who only react after things go wrong. Overall, the core loop of ship-building, exploration, and survival is unique and engaging, but the AI limitations hold it back from feeling as smooth and immersive as it could be. If you're okay micromanaging infestations and doing a lot of the heavy lifting yourself, there's still fun to be had—especially once you get turrets and higher-tier upgrades online.
I absolutely love this game, but it has been abandoned for awhile.
well...the concept is great...it would be nice if it was coop or online pvp coop
I beat the game on the tutorial run and haven't picked it up again but I plan to eventually, it's not the best game ever but there really is not many games similar to it and it is not very expensive.
The idea is great but there just are so many really bad design decisions and it gets really repetitive
