Explore a haunting, punishing island in this stylized 2D action RPG. Salt and Sanctuary combines fast and brutal 2D combat with richly developed RPG mechanics in a cursed realm of forgotten cities, blood-soaked dungeons, and desecrated monuments.

I don't think S&S quite lives up to the standard of a 'must play' title, but its not far from it either. Players will be met with a satisfying reimagining of a souls-like in a 2D space. There are some pretty nice quirks specific to this title like the mini base-builder element at every sanctuary but there are a whole mess of systems that I know I under-utilised because of poor communication in-game between the devs and the players; Whenever I unlocked a new brand, for example, I would always have to google how to actually use it. I was able to brute force my way through with a buffing, 2h, rolling character but I know there is a world of depth available for someone willing to sit and plan out their skill tree, learn the covenants, grind for maxxed gear; they'd just also have to be willing to wade through a bunch of community guides first and that's where this game falls short for me.

masterpiece
this is like if a developer team made a game guys its revolutionary
精妙到让我流泪的地图设计,搭配上无与伦比的打击感和独特的画风和氛围,要是再加上小地图就真的无可挑剔了。
It is OK. but some bosses, specifically the Kraken Wyrm make 0 sense.

5.5/10, i love the world of this game i find it very artistic and fun to get lost into, the music is fantastic and the art style charming, the powers you get to traverse the world feel fun to use. The biggest problem is the combat you either are strong enough to down the enemies in 2 - 3 hits or they rag doll you around, it wouldn't be so bad if it didn't take ages for the character to get up, bosses are somehow even worse get hit you get flung to the other side of the arena, while you get up the boss is already there just in time to send you to the other side. An why so many of the end game bosses have one shot attacks? I'm level 85 Honestly all the joy of the game gets zapped away by the combat, you don't engage or trade blow you just kill the others as fast as you can or get trown around. The upgrade system is pretty obtuse to i spent 2 hours farming enemies to get the upgrade materials for my sword. Ended up ten level higher just to get 7 upgrade items.
