If you can get around the aspect ratio of the graphics and have a hard time making decisions, I recommend doing your research before game play! I had to start over a few times because I ate a few plants before I obtained the recipes for powerful potions and I made some social decisions and couldn't complete a chapter.... But if you like a good mix of survival-hack'n slash-RPG story telling where each "go fetch" quest is more enriching than your typical RPG on top of challenging social situations, then this is the game for you. Oh and you have a voice instead of the silent type hero or anti hero in this case.

Did a bandit run, and honestly melee will absolutely booty bother you at first, since you're a literal weakling with nothing, your first "armor" will force you to grind 500 gold (which is a lot at the start), forcing you to really learn the mechanics and git gud at combat The parry though, garbage. Never used it apart from accidentally. They meshed the block and parry button, parry works if you click block once, or if you hold block until 1-2 seconds after. It's just dumb, let me map a key for parry only you dildos Story is good, characters are good, no woke DEI slop propaganda here, at least, none I can remember, which makes sense since it's an old game. Replay value? Nah. Unless you want to make a mage or vice versa, or MUH ACHIEVEMENTS, I just don't see the value in replaying it. Unless youve forgotten it after 15 years. Some of the music gives me fallout vibes. Enemies are nice and varied, and NO LEVEL SCALING!!! If youre too weak to kill it, YOURE TOO WEAK, THANK YOU COME BACK LATER The game WILL force you to learn it or you WILL get filtered. Just pick up the damn shield when you get off the beach, save yourself the pain. Had to look up where to get the first shield, had a sword up until most of the bandit camp was done. No armor until chapter 2. You learn to deal with it and cheese where you can Anyway, its good, just play it
