many of the causes of death can very clearly and accurately be described by several of the things in the cause of death list making the "deduction system" for them trail and error which is stupid, not the intended solution and also the only way to solve it at the same time. I get that some things are supposed to be unclear that's not the problem the problem is some that are clear can have many clear and accurate descriptions from what you are given. This also wouldn't be a problem if the game accepted any of the accurate descriptions instead of requiring a specific one. There is also apparently some information that the player is expected to have external from the game but this is never shown in any way in-game, there is a glossary showing a bit of the info but so much more external info is required and intentional. This is a terrible design and from what I have gathered from looking into it is that more than half of the people with "positive reviews" claiming "game good" just started guessing whatever after a bit. That's not solving anything

Impressionnant
It's been 5 years since I last played this game, it still lives rent free in my head in the most positive way a game can and I'll let it stay in that penthouse suite it deserves it. Everything is just amazing about this game. The audio of what is going on during these deaths and than being smacked with the view of the final moment is cool as hell, as it allows you to guess what is going just to be taken aback by how just suddenly see it. In fact the audio and music in general is top notch and adds great detail and helps with the mood of what is going on. The visual style is also just gorgeous especially with how lighting is effecting the world, the particles, the limited palette GOD it's all just beautiful. The whole set up for the game just being "you are insurance person figure out what the hell happened" is just really funny to me as you think it would be mundane but than you are going through seeing and figuring out the fate of each crew member is really engaging. Even though I've only played it fully once while writing this it still just sticks out when I'm trying to think of "games I've really enjoyed" because the experience of it was just phenomenal. It was just very fun to figure out what happened to the Obra Dinn and to just get immersed into the tragic tale of the Vessel at sea. If you enjoy mysteries like this or just want to experience something unique, I HIGHLY recommend giving this a go as you won't regret it.
Pretty awesome game yeah do recommend
Didn't expect to like this. But the art style, sound design, and surprisingly intricate story drew me in. Felt more like reading a Joseph Conrad novel than playing a game.
Mt foda.
