Guided by the knowledge safeguarded in your notebook, follow in your crew’s footsteps to explore a richly detailed world, unravel its secrets, and face deadly trials. Use a stolen Minoan sphere to solve ingenious puzzles by manipulating light - a force woven by Daedalus into the island’s very heart.

It is said that only a few came back from the island. Lurking in the shadows lives a restless presence. It follows you around, seemingly knowing your every move, as it hunts through the island’s depths.
Every step is a risk. Every pause, a potential end. You can’t stop, only hide, outsmart, and push forward. Can you survive each trial and every step or will you join those who never came back?

Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy takes a big risk with its decision to deviate from the beloved stealth-based gameplay in Innocence and Requiem, and I personally believe that risk paid off. The gameplay changes surrounding combat were fantastic. They were smooth, responsive, kind of simple and generic, yet very enjoyable. Regarding level design, I was very impressed by the beautifully crafted levels. Additionally, the music was outstanding. Likewise, the graphics and visuals were phenomenal, and the game ran very well: no issues regarding optimization and performance. The plot presented was very immersive and intriguing. I loved the characters, and they were well written. On the topic of writing, in comparison to the masterful and emotional writing of Requiem, Resonance did not quite reach that astronomically high bar despite still being well written and emotional. I also observed that the narrative was drawn out towards the end of the game. I would also like to point out one specific thing that personally confused me until the end, and that was the pseudonym used for the “monster.” Said “monster” goes by two names and the game holds off on reconciling them until very late. Moreover, it was uncertain whether this was intentional or if it was unclear writing, but in either case I would have appreciated some clarification sooner. On one final note, the game closely resembles a Tomb Raider/ Uncharted game in terms of gameplay loop and story in the best way possible. That said, the level design and narrative themes still make it feel like a Plague Tale prequel. In conclusion, Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy is an ambitious, yet mostly successful attempt at a prequel given the massive changes. I would definitely recommend that fans of the franchise give the game a shot despite the writing falling short of Requiem. Additionally, I would like to add that enjoyers of the adventure genre should consider playing it given the nature of the game.

I've loved innocence and requiem and this one. I've loved as well. First it's important to note that this was a "dangerous" episode for Asobo and Focus. When in the first two ones it's more about exploration and pathing, this one has "a lot" of action. I'v enjoyed the action I think in normal difficulty it's ok. In harder difficulty, it would probably be quite boring because of how it's designed. Enemies have few attacks and they all share the same timings. Light and Heavy attacks. The animation aren't that great on combat but honestly i didn't mind at all. The story is great even if it doesn't lack flaws... You have the "magic key" you are important, necessary even. But in fact... Not really. Because for some magic reason other people can do what you without the need of the magic key. There are writing flaws here. The story helps you understand why she became what she is in requiem. And honestly, Sophia is a quite well written female characters ! I honestly enjoyed the others characters. Great job on this one. !!! BEGINNING OF SPOILERS ALERT !!!! What i didn't like tho is the deaths of the main characters. Leni as quite a forgetable death. It's like she is here to die JUST so that it can serve sophia's personnality in requiem. Just for us to understand that "yhea she has suffered a lot of deaths". But it's pretty poorly done. She doesn't sacrifice herself, she isn't really "killed", she is just... On the way. And that's quite sad. Because when it happened i was unfortunately not sad at all because I was more focus on "wait... They really killed her like that ? Mhe". As for Faro, there, as well, you are going to put an end to everything and... He just receive a bloody knife on the back. No fight. They didn't give him a fight. For a fighter like him it's just sad. To be honest, him, more than Leni, I was expecting a sacrifice. When you play requiem, you know both Leni and Faro will Die. From the start. From the start you know all important person to Sofia will die. So... Don't rob us of good deaths :( The lack of new game + is a bit weird. I was expecting one, to do the game again, in harder difficulty. Get the collectibles/blades/resonance points i didn't get in my first playthrough. The skill tree is a bit light (thought it's unfortunate because i really enjoyed it.) !!! END OF SPOILERS ALERT !!!! As always, the game is beautiful. The scenary is awesome. Music is great ! i spoiled myself listening to it on spotify before playign the game and i was like "yhea, the songs are great but... Not as great as requiem". BUT, in the game, they are awesome. They fit perfectly ! And sometimes when listening to the ambiant music i was like "god it's like i'm watching the shannara chronicle". It was really like watching a fantasy show, with awesome scenary. It's a 9h to 15h depending on how you play, your difficulty and your experience with video games.
Great story, great characters, beautiful music, amazing graphics, and superb performance, I managed over 70fps on high graphics on my ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ with very occasional dips. The in-house engine asobo has is truly something else. This game only really falls short with its gameplay. It's not terrible but not great, it can feel janky at times, same as the previous games in my opinion. If gameplay is your main priority, then this game may not be the best fit for you, but the story and characters more than makes up for that if you're willing to see it through till the end. 8.5/10. I want to see more games from this studio. P.S. If you look anything like sophia, hmu let's get married
Stunningly beautiful game and exceedingly well optimized (as I am experiencing it, ymmv as always). It's obviously a departure from the previous 'Plague Tale' entries in that there's little or nothing in the way of the stealth mechanics that were central to those titles. The combat is not overly challenging compared to, say, Souls-likes, so there's not much danger of being 'stuck' on an encounter, but it's sufficiently interesting to feed a bit of power fantasy. There's lots of exploration, beautifully supported by Sophia's journal which you can access without exiting the scenery (which is gorgeous btw), making it easy to compare sketches to what's in view. I find the voice acting overall quite well done, but whether you like the banter is a matter of personal taste. I am far from having finished the game at the time I write this, but so far I find the story engrossing enough; I've certainly seen plenty of lesser efforts in recent years. Character customization is not terribly deep in terms of weapon variety and ability points; if being able to try out distinctly different setups and play styles is essential for you, that aspect of the game may not satisfy you. If I have one complaint it's that I can't stop panning around to look at Sophia, again, it's a matter of personal taste but they really nailed that alluring Mediterranean look...
The Plague Tale games continue to be the pinnacle of video games as a story-telling medium. I bought Plague Tale Resonance on release day. Couldn't wait to play it. It's incredible. Just another entry in a happily growing line of fantastic games by Asobo Studio. It's more of what you expect in this IP: music, voice-acting, animation, level design, graphics, and gameplay coming together that shows a studio that puts real heart into their work. The combat is different from the stealth-first approach of previous titles, but its well-made and enjoyable. More of an Arkham style combat system. The characters have real emotional weight and both their motion-capture and voice actors give it their all. I've played a lot of games. But I've never played another game so hauntingly moving as well as genuinely fun to play as the Plague Tale series. Play this game. You won't regret it.
If you loved a Plague Tale Requiem, you are going to hate this game. This is not a 20 hour movie game walking simulator like PTR that should have been pushed to Netflix and not Steam. This is an actual game. Enjoy!
