Reviews
The game is great for learning how to play guitar, Ive learned a lot unfortunately I cant recommend it as ubisoft will happily rip any content you pay for out of your hands because theyre too cheap to continue licensing their product. They can, will, and have bricked DLC because the license expired, and then theyll continue selling it anyway. Stop killing games. When you remove the legal way to enjoy things people have made, the only way forward is piracy.
All the licenses for the songs expired so theres no songs you can play. You're better off pirating whatever the latest version of this game is out there with all the songs and DLC. Other than that the game is alright

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 9: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

First of all, I love this game. But ubisoft abandoned it a long time ago. You cant just play it anymore unless you dig in to forums for solutions. This is an issue for YEARS, and never fixed this. Shame on them.
Be sure to do the following: 1. Adjust your Windows display settings to 100% to be able to view the entire game screen during play. 2. Adjust your latendy in the audio settings of Rocksmith to 2 to prevent too much delay between when you strike your guitar string and when the notes play in-game. You'll have a much better in-game experience after you do this, trust me!
Get it on sale, find all the unlisted DLC on the Internet Archive, buy a cheap audio interface and a 1/4 male to male cable (or the official rocksmith cable), and play. In just 2 weeks I've learned more than any book has taught me.
Its a hollow shell of its former self. It's still worth it because its a GREAT learning tool. That said the old set list from a decade ago is long gone so all you're getting is dlc and that's it. I'd honestly reccomend track down a console copy over this. I want to say this is still a great tool for a low price and guitarcade is genuinely fantastic piece of game design. But you also need a F-U-C-K-I-N-G ubisoft account to play on PC. There's things here I enjoy, I'll probably be playing it later, honestly. Its not Rocksmith+ which is another bonus but without the old set list from a decade ago its a miserably hollow experience on PC. If you're willing to buy the dlc track then you'll have an actually decent set list, but its still nothing without everything that was lost Overall this is something that was once an amazing game rotted by the passing of time and more so by being a Ubisoft title. The idea is amazing, was once very well executed and sadly we haven't see anything else do what Rocksmith did. It's good but I suggest buying a console copy second hand or emulating it. I have no idea how easy it is to get an "arr" eyepatch version of the original 2014, but I strongly recommend that even with some of the tracks from the currently available dlc being impressive. Tl;dr great game ruined by being an Ubisoft game, get better versions by any means necessary.
Rocksmith 2014 is genuinely one of the best investments I've made for learning guitar — it turned practice from a chore into something I actually look forward to. The lessons, Guitarcade minigames, and Riff Repeater make building technique feel rewarding rather than tedious. That said, go in with eyes open: the base game songs are pretty sparse now, and you'll want to set up CDLC through CustomsForge and grab RS_ASIO to get everything running smoothly — it's not hard, but it's not plug-and-play either. Ubisoft's ongoing DLC delisting and the push toward Rocksmith+ are genuinely frustrating, especially if you've paid for songs that later vanish. But once it's configured, the game has hundreds of hours of value, and the modding community keeps it alive in ways Ubisoft clearly isn't interested in doing themselves.
i'd recommend this, but i wouldnt recommend buying it. sail the seas, and pirate the game. too much gone in the new learn and play edition that i cant see how its even worth it in the slightest.
I could not get this game to run, no matter how hard I tried. Fix your ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game, Ubisoft.
