Honestly, I don't have any issues with the game. It's a good game and fun, but nothing about it really stands out. the graphics quality is wildy inconsistent i.e. can see the individual wood grains on a rail tie, can barely read a builder plate on a locomotive. Also, the game is nowhere near polished enough to be "1.0," it feels like early access. One wiki description for a gondola car tells you about the games tutorials, and that's just one example. I will continue to play this, but Century of Steam has so much more love put into it. 5/10 just wait for Century of Steam.
Railroads online is not a bad game, but it's certainly not a great game. It is pretty unpolished for a 1.0 game, and there are a few annoying mechanics/ strange gimmicks, like how if the cars are too close together, adding coupling links doesn't work. For some reason, a lot of people seem to complain about the track building, which would be solved if they pressed 5 to switch to precise mode. The track system is very good, but it could use with slightly more granular grade adjustments. If you have money to spare and like train games, buy this so you have a fun game to play while you wait for Century of Steam, but otherwise, it might not be worth the money.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,515 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

i LOVE this game plus my friend is gonna start playing with it after he buys it so 3 of us me my sister and him can play in my world
Great game particularly if you have an interest in steam rail. The interface for building the railway lines is a little clunky but if used in "precise" mode it makes a big difference. I am really enjoying this game.
игра супер есть недачёты лаги
Half-baked buggy mess that was not ready to leave EA - get Railroader instead.
best game ever
What a cool train simulation. Best one by far for the old Iron Horses. Other train sims left me hanging. I haven't played multiplayer yet. I'm still learning whistle and other signals before I go out and play with others.
This game is a combination of - a transport tycoon like Transport Fever or Mashinsky because you can lay down tracks to connect various industries on the map and transport goods between them - a game like Railroader because you can drive the steam trains from 1st person and 3rd person and also you can refuel them with water, coal, sand and fire woods. - a game like Derail Valley because you drive in an empty lifeless world in different conditions and get the feel of the track incline and engine struggle to where you actually load the cargo into the wagons using different cranes or unload it. What I like about the game: - you get maps with pre-laid tracks if you lack imagination or you find it hard to do it yourself - you get QoL features like no fuel consumption and auto-couple the wagons. What I like less in the game: - building the "bridges" looks more like a roler-coaster track than an actual bridge, making it look very unrealistic. What i'd like to see implemented in the game: - quests like "deliver these cars to that destination" where you are required to just use your locomotive to complete the job similar to Derail Valey and Railroader. - NPCs around towns and industries. - an employee system to assign jobs to them like in any transport tycoon game or Railroader. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CqqVdgxxoZU The game is worth the price on sale if you just want to drive steam trains from point A to point B without any important purpose in mind on those pre-laid tracks. If you want to stress your imagination and design skills when laying the tracks yourself then the game can be worth the full price.
