Project Zomboid is the ultimate in zombie survival. Alone or in MP: you loot, build, craft, fight, farm and fish in a struggle to survive. A hardcore RPG skillset, a vast map, massively customisable sandbox and a cute tutorial raccoon await the unwary. So how will you die? All it takes is a bite..

Prices
The United States storefront in every case, so this compares stores and not countries.
Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Every market we collect.
Charts
Each storefront's own chart, in its own country — the closest public signal to sales where none is published. A country missing from a list is one we don't collect there, not one where the game doesn't chart.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.

Sums Steam only; GOG publishes no volume signal, so the true total is higher by an unknown amount.

Reviews
Ignore my playtime, I have played more outside of Steam. I am completely convinced that everything in this game which could potentially be interesting is taken from C:DDA, and babyfied so that people who almost exclusively play hero shooters, Minecraft, and games from their childhood can play a bit of this on the side. This is a game that immediately struck me as being made out of passion for things that are not video games, and, from what I saw online, it seems I was right. The only game they proudly claim fueled the design philosophy in any way appears to be The Sims. There is nothing about this game that is particularly well-designed, individual traits of its mechanics are middling at best, especially in how they interact with one another. I was disappointed to see that unique item interactions feel like rare gimmicks rather than something in abundance, which is what gives me a feeling that the game will only end up being wide as an ocean, deep as a puddle, as it were. There is no room to come up with creative solutions in a meaningful capacity, which pollutes any potentially intense moment of gameplay with the constant knowledge that you are playing a 'sandbox' game which limits you heavily, purely by the inventiveness, or lack thereof, of the uninspired developers. What I mean to say is: being good at this game would just be accruing a collection of cool tricks that you learned on social media; there is no expression on the behalf of the player. You will likely never experience the thrill of being in a tight situation, only to save your sorry ass by finally figuring out how to interface with a system you previously couldn't get the hang of; you will only ever have minorly different variations of running away in a different type of line. It's less like playing in a sandbox and more like playing with the sandcastle some other kid made. I do really appreciate the visual style, and the appearance of the UI. The atmosphere of the game is nice as well. Multiplayer could be pretty fun, but I didn't try that myself. I will try the game again when NPCs are added.

Latest in each market: best CN #36, worst CA #97 · 14 markets collected
US · last 30 days
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 326.86/day in the week to Sep 1 → 367/day in the week after.
Of the 12 markets with a position on both sides, 12 climbed and 0 fell. The same sale, the same day, opposite directions — which is why nothing here is averaged into a single arrow, and why one sale is not a trend.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Only posting Not Recommended because this game has been unfinished for soooo long and I keep losing long runs/worlds to corruption and bugs. This is probably the best zombie type game, but dang man they gotta fix this game and finish it.
good
Amazing game, probably the best survival game in the world, shoutout to the YT @Aiekillu for all his videos on this gem.
лучшая песочница про зомби апокалипсис
TL;DR: This is the only game on Steam where the reviews are the complete opposite of my experience. I don't believe such a niche game with outdated graphics, 13 years in early access, and lots of criticism from the community can have a 94% recommendation score on Steam. There is definitely something weird here. BTW, this game used to give mods full system access for years because of poor programming choices, and it fixed it only 4 months ago. Here are my thoughts on the gameplay. You can miss point-blank shots with a shotgun because you didn't read books for 8 hours and didn't waste your precious bullets training your aim on zombies. You also need to reload your gun for 2 days so reloading your gun doesn't take ages. It's too grindy and unrealistic. When using a melee weapon, you need to kite backwards otherwise, zombies might phase through you and bite you from behind, which you can't really defend against. It makes so much sense to keep walking backward while swinging a crowbar, and your FOV is quite limited in this game. The developers didn't hear about peripheral vision, and objects disappear. For example, when part of a car is behind a tree, you can't see it at all, then it suddenly appears once you pass the tree. But this game's biggest problem is that it's not fun because after you get a generator and make a safe base, you can start grinding books, and the game becomes too easy without any more goals left.
The new stable version of B42 comes with some extreme hits to performance, especially when loading new areas. Massive stuttering on Linux/Steam Deck, and issues hosting games from a local system. I can't recommend until these issues are resolved.
