very intresting turned base! must have!
Well rounded and fun to play, however, it still has the same problem as other turn-based titles have in that the world becomes repetitive and the later game becomes stale. 9/10
just play if you like spy and management games

A very solid if sometimes slow moving game that is a really good turn based tactical strategy game with a heavy spy flavor and RPG elements. In the game you play a spy who is unraveling a global conspiracy- requiring you to analyze captured documents, take out bad guy leaders, and blow stuff up. Unusually, this game starts each level with an "infiltration" stage where your agents can sneak around and silently take out the enemies. Although it can sometimes feel slow, I enjoyed carefully planning out my approach to each scenario (many of which are semi-randomly generated)... and then wildly improvising my way through a shoot-out after the alarm is raised (because a boss recognized my disguised agent, or someone found a body I had left sneaking around, or I failed to spot a guard). There is good agent customization and equipment options that allow a lot of flexibility in building out your team- so some of your agents can be swift, agile specialists at sneaking around, while others can be more tank-y. Worth checking out for fans of spy movies and tactical RPGs.
"Phantom Doctrine" excels as a Cold War espionage masterpiece. Its intricate strategy and cloak-and-dagger gameplay immerse players in a world of deception and conspiracy. The chiaroscuro visuals and enigmatic characters create an alluring atmosphere, while the tactical challenges and cerebral gameplay mirror the essence of spycraft. This game invites players to unravel a web of intrigue, becoming part of a thrilling covert ballet that merges strategic prowess with the allure of espionage.
A potentially great game that's let down by a little problems which add up, ranging from the overpowered Disguise mechanic, to problems caused by the game's deterministic combat, and an ending that drags on a bit too long. With that said, this game is pretty much the only game in town in regards to an Espionage Tactics game, and in general, the Espionage genre isn't exactly filled with choices in video games, so if you want a Cold War Spy theme, this game very much is something you should keep an eye on for a sale.
