Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 4.29/day in the week to Aug 10 → 5.29/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 22 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,513 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
From Obsidian, this game is a historical narrative-driven game focusing on character development, heavily stylized art, and choice-driven storytelling in early 16th century Bavaria. Players will play as Andreas Maler, a clever illustrator caught up in a series of murders in Tassing and Kiersau Abbey over the course of twenty five years. Players will be responsible for conducting their own investigation to decide the fate of the community, but each decision will have lasting consequences and inexorably draws Andreas closer to the center of an underlying conspiracy.
Experience 16th century Europe as the master artists of the time saw them. Art inspired by great illuminated manuscripts and the earliest printed books becomes a living, breathing world in Pentiment.
Choose different academic and social backgrounds and meet a colorful cast of characters as you discover the stories and secrets that lie within the small Bavarian town of Tassing and nearby Keirsau Abbey.
In an era of great religious and political change, each decision you make can have a profound impact on the community’s future. Find your own way through this turbulent time and see the consequences of your choices play out over generations.

Surely not for every one. This game is unique and like immersing into a book (also visually) in the late medieval/renaissance world. Some may find it boring, there is no real "action", just dialogue. But everyone with interest in history or the life of historic people and their greater and every day conflicts, might enjoy it. It's reminiscent of "Name of the Rose", you have to solve severals murders within the village and the abbey. I really loved it and will play a second time to get other outcomes with the dialogues and story.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 23: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Definitely one of the best written game out there. An absolute must play for everyone interested in history, medival aesthetics or just, good, old detective work. The choices in this game feel like they are truely made to mean something and aren't just a simple 'good' or 'bad' dialogue option, rather, the concept of facing and accepting the consequences of ANY action lays at the very foundation of the game. Every single character feels fleshed out and realistic and it's a pleasure to interact with them. Even if the investigations and detective work are a huge part of the story, the game tries to convey so much more than simple 'whodunnit'. It bacomes suprisnlgy moving and humane at times when it comments on the concept of passing time and changes we all must face. It reminded me of Disco Elysium in that regard. The game also looks stunning with it's UI stylized as the medival scriptures. Cannot recommend it enough!
I can understand why the game has been dubbed a masterpiece by some. The art is beautiful and the story really pulls you in. It's not really a murder mystery because ultimately it almost doesn't matter who the culprits are (except to your conscience, because you will be condemning them to death), but the ending answers some of the questions you will have in a satisfying way. Be prepared to agonise over your decisions because there isn't a 'right' or even 'best' choice in a lot of situations, and the time limit makes it impossible to experience everything in one playthrough. I will definitely play the game again and make different choices, but it's a game I'll have to walk away from for a bit to digest the story. I will say that the last act was my least favourite overall (I enjoyed act II the most). Also, the story is genuinely quite sad, so be prepared for that going in.
A game that is cute and simplistic on the surface but immensely detailed beneath. It is fraught with player choice, realistic characters who evolve over the course of the narrative, beautiful visuals, and nuanced themes about the nature of society, art, and storytelling. It's the little things that make me so enamored with this game. The typefaces and the integration of the art into the world, the fact that you can do so much yet never enough, the tiny mini games that don't have much stake attached to them but still serve to immerse you into your role. Currently playing through this a second time two years after my first playthrough and I'm just as obsessed as I was before. I recommend this game to everyone. It really makes you think.
This point-and-click adventure game is atmospheric and charming. Most importantly, the writing is high-quality. The pace is slow, but doesn't drag. The journal and map features mean that, unlike old point-and-click games, you will never get stuck. I thoroughly enjoyed this one. It's my second-favorite game of the genre, after Disco Elysium. I would recommend not looking up any spoilers and just diving in.
