Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1.25/day in the week to Aug 3 → 2.43/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About

Pathologic 3 is a psychological horror game where you have only 12 days to save a town from a mysterious plague.
You are Daniil Dankovsky: physician, researcher, prodigy. Your research into the nature of death has brought you to this remote town deep in the eastern steppe, looking for a man said to be immortal.
But the outbreak of a deadly contagion sweeps through the town. The immortal man is dead. You failed to stop it.
Now you must return to the beginning. Fix your mistakes. Save the town.
Every minute counts. Save them all, discover the secrets of immortality... don't go mad in the process.
Bring your medical training to bear. Observation and knowledge are your tools. Work with patients face-to-face.
Examine the sick and make diagnoses. Each patient is a unique story — and a medical mystery. They may lie, omit the truth, or hide their motives. You must separate fact from fiction, and identify the real symptoms. Step by step, you'll get closer to developing a vaccine that could change everything.
Fight for every new day. Ensure the town's survival by imposing your own rules: enforce quarantines, confiscate precious medicine, vaccinate the population, suppress riots, deploy patrols, and declare curfews.
You will make mistakes, face their consequences, and unlock new decrees. Your actions will shape the town—even if the people grow to hate you for it. Power is in your hands. It's up to you whether the streets will see gunfire or fireworks.
Made a mistake? Go back, and fix it.
Time is your tool for navigating a narrative web filled with moral dilemmas and branching paths. Rewind if you think you could have done better. Keep your eye on your ultimate goal—even if the road there is paved with sacrifices.
How far will you go to find the truth? Your mental state directly affects your actions, and even how you interpret events. Falling into apathy or wandering into mania may lead you to new insights... or to your death.
Sums Steam only; PlayStation, Xbox, GOG publish no volume signal, so the true total is higher by an unknown amount.

IPL absolutely nailed what they were going for with this game. Unfortunately, I feel what they were going for was fundamentally a downgrade from Pathologic 2. I have a huge amount of respect for them trying something new and making a truly unique experience, but I think myself and many others really just wanted more of the same. That being said, the atmosphere, story, and characters you'd expect are still there and better than ever, and the dynamic visual additions around the town really made a difference in terms of immersion for me. The gameplay mechanics on the other hand, while interesting in their own way, do not give the same sense of dread and feel a lot less cohesive than before. On top of that, this game is VERY buggy still, despite the many patches (which are still being released). Some of these bugs are game-breaking, and in a game like this, it's oftentimes difficult to tell whether something is bugged or if it's just Pathologic being Pathologic. Overall, if you liked Pathologic 2, I still highly recommend playing this, just be sure to temper your expectations and try to go in with an open mind.
I'm sorry, I just can't be convinced that unceremoniously wiping your save 30 hours into a narrative game is respectful of the player's time and money. The game would have been so fine, had it been just about the non-linear story, without these atrocious "survival" mechanics that, on top of being quite boring and unnecessary, are balanced in a way that will constantly push you towards a soft-lock. In this context the permadeath is not a clever narrative statement, it's just lame... I won't try again
"The only human fear worthy of note is fear of failing to find a decent conversation partner. The rest is but a trifle." A must play. A triumph of writing, and a game that has personally impacted me more than any other form of art (gaming or otherwise) ever has. Thank you Ice Pick Lodge.
Pathologic 3 is a disappointment. I know what the Pathologic series is supposed to be. I know it's supposed to feel bleak and exhausting. And I know the arguments of the Pathologic 3 apologist: "It’s not supposed to be fun," "It’s supposed to let you suffer." and "lol have you played a Pathologic game before?" - Yes, I have, unlike some people who probably just watched video essays about it on Youtube. Pathologic 1 had a raw, undeniable eurojank charm. Pathologic 2 had a brilliant gameplay loop where the mechanics themselves made you feel the pressure of the plague. It was satisfying to survive. And both of them respected you, the gamer. They respected your time, they respected that you can read subtext, that you know how to appreciate the "artistic part" of a video game. Somehow Pathologic 3 must have taken several wrong turns during development and finally kept driving off a cliff. 1. The writing suffers from "Disco Elysium" Syndrome I've seen it mentioned in another steam review and the reviewer is so right about it. This is Disco Elysium writing. If you hated the writing in DE for being verbose, overly "meta," and exhausting to read —welcome to hell. It is smug, it's self-aware and so desperate to be clever. And it's too much . I would say it's 300% of the amount of dialogue of P2. I was clicking through masses of "witty" dialogue walls looking for plot relevance and asked myself "What the hell happened to Pathologic? Is this a nightmare?" 2. The atmosphere is artificial In Pathologic 2, the dread came from the systems - time management, hunger, infection, the rising prices for food, etc. NPCs around you got infected and died, randomly. You knew you could save them, but you just hadn't the time to save them all - It was stresful, it was rewarding. In Pathologic 3 all of the atmosphere is "written", it's artificial. The game doesn't show you the weird atmosphere of this town - it spells it out, and constantly so. You get out of the train and the first NPC literally tells you that the town is weird, has its own rules and that the children are "special" and "off-limits". And it goes on: NPCs can't shut up about how awful everything is. Your own character can't shut up about what a psychological wreck he is. The meta writing can't shut up about how everyone in town hates you and everything you do is futile. It's just tiresome. It is "tell, don't show" all the way. 3. It does neither respect your time nor your intellect The gameplay is tedious. Not "challenging" tedious, just "bad design" tedious. You are sent on fetch quests that feel like they exist solely to pad the runtime. Sometimes it feels as if the quests are deliberately designed to send the player back and forth between the two furthest points on the map. And to the apologists saying, "It’s not supposed to be fun" - you are wrong. A game, even a bleak one, must be satisfying. It needs a hook. This game is a chore. Core mechanics ("amalgam") are broken or at least very unbalanced. 4. It’s not just the bugs Yes, the game is buggy, and it's annoying. But I’ve played buggy messes before. I can forgive technical jank if the soul of the game is good. But the soul of Pathologic 3 isn't good. Even if they patched every single bug tomorrow, the core experience would still be pretentious, tedious, and poorly written. There are some good aspects to the game, but I won't mention them here because they aren't strong or important enough to make it a good game. All that remains for me to say is: Mundus vult decipi, ergo decipiatur - but this isn't the sequel I waited for.
The game has multiple ways you can soft lock yourself out of being able win. This sucks because playing the game a second time is not fun and there is no way to skip dialogue options directly affect your in game outcomes. Supposedly there is a time constraint on how many things you can do in a day but given that the main mechanic denies that, there's not really a cost to anything. Really cool idea with poor execution. That being said I'm still gonna finish the game now that I've bought it.
