Prices
The United States storefront in every case, so this compares stores and not countries.
Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Every market we collect.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.57/day in the week to Aug 15 → 1.14/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Haven't played this in over 14 years! Still holds up very well by today's standards. Any fans of the tower defense genre would enjoy this.
My friend Beffrey introduced me to this game in college, during an extremely stressful time. He only stated, "You look like a man who needs to kill some orcs." There was no other context. He just motioned me to follow him and showed me this game on steam, just setting up traps and sniping orcs with weapons and magic. And you know what? I needed to kill some Orcs. Man did I need to kills some Orcs. So I went back to my dorm room and started to kill some Orcs. And you know what? That really helped get my head straight. So if you're having a rough time, can't quite clear your head, or just need to blow some steam off, do what Beffrey taught ya. Kill some Orcs. 100/10 - more Orcs need killing.

one of the best games i ever played here on steam i finished it years ago and when i see it now i only remember GREAT memories really nice game its tower defense but i felt its more than that some how and i enjoyed playing with many styles and strategies nice graphics for me even its old nice soundtrack nice maps nice experience i was hack and slash most of time but there is some nice traps and so thanks to the "arrows" !! i never got bored of it even failing many times for achievements xD this is GEM!
This is a game I played as a child. Well... an old child. I was 21 when it came out. It was 2011. I still sucked on my soother.
Playing this game was a nostalgia-filled dream. It holds up to today's standards, even if the graphical fidelity is subpar. This is another Torchlight moment: the game is so good that we can overlook its less-than-average display. But! There are physics that somehow some games today still can't do, and we have around 25 missions of tower defense mixed with third-person action. It never gets boring because of how the difficulty scales. By the final mission, you have seen the toughest challenges, but thanks to the prep of every other level, it never feels impossible.
“That was my master always tried saying to me!”
While the story is somewhat barren, there is some connection between this and the next three games. We don't talk about Unchained or Deathtrap. The humor is lighthearted, the music is solid, and the orcs must die!
“Shaken, and stirred! Also stabbed.”

There are a few nitpicks, and I'll put them here. Somewhere. Like right here.
There is no mouse-down shooting—read: no auto-shoot. You must click-release-click-release, etc., to shoot. I believe this is to emphasize the headshot mechanic, where it is almost always an insta-kill. But I am a Neanderthal, and I enjoy mass-clicking and spraying my crossbow. This also introduces sway and bolts going every which way. The flying enemies are a bit much. Not game-ruining, just a bit much. They move just fast enough that it's hard to shoot them, but just slowly enough that you can see them entering your Rift. It would be nice to have some kind of AoE attack—not the Lightning Ring—that could bounce between them. Also, the Archer Champions are super weak against them and will almost always die, which requires you to babysit them a fair bit. On the flip side, we have Paladin Champions, which you can just plop willy-nilly wherever, and they will hold down the line. My final strat was always two or three Paladins at my core and six Archers as backup. This seemed to be the de facto cheese for winning some of the more troubling levels.
Sorceress: I will feast on your heart and bathe in your blood! Apprentice: [chuckling] He used to say that, too, when he got a little drunk.
The unlocks and/or progression here are a bit lackluster. You basically need to get 5/5 Skulls on every level to have a chance of unlocking everything. Not bad, per se, but some levels are very hectic, and not having anyone get through the Rift is a challenge. Hello, Rebirth, you donut-infused level.
“The Master was lying there hurt, and you just left?”
The DLC is another matter. The DLC really ramps up the challenge. The first DLC level is as hard as, if not harder than, the final campaign level. This is, of course, unless you abuse the new items from the other DLC. The Vamp Gauntlet is almost necessary for any DLC content. In fact, it carried me through the entire campaign. I would wager that you shouldn't use the glove until you beat the campaign on War Mage difficulty, but you know what? It's a game. Do what you want. Just know that the DLC items will make the main game a breeze and give you unlimited Mana and HP. Just know that. Perfectly reasonable. I'd have done the same.
Sorceress: Ugh. I am done. You will never know the pleasures we could have had together.
Overall, I give OMD a 6/7. To give it a 7/7 would be too high of praise, but any lower and it starts to resemble the Apprentice. The DLC? I give it a 5/7. This covers both DLCs. If the game had better unlocks—read: different unlocking paths, it would receive higher praise. This is more or less due to the fact that the game came out in the early days of PC gaming or gaming in general.

BUG FIXES FOR YOU:
On modern systems, you might find if you have another device playing audio, the game will not have sound. The only solution I found to this was to restart my PC. Once restarted, I would launch OMD and then I had sound. Do you play and notice that sometimes you can't press "B" to open your Spell Book? Ctrl+Alt+DEL and then just cancel out. Now you will have the "B" key working. I don't know the rhyme or reason for this, but this was my solution to it. I see a lot of people mentioning putting the EXE into Compatibility Mode for Windows 7... never worked for me. In fact, the game stopped opening all together. Then I saw some mentioning turning off Real-time AV and Firewall. You don't need to do that, I don't know why people are still mentioning this to even this day. When in doubt, just restart your PC. Also one last ditch effort, open up to your Games install dir which for me was Steam\steamapps\common\Orcs Must Die!\data\startup\ and inside here create a user.cfg and add only ONE line that contains the word "window" all this will do is put the game into Window Mode.
Saw some idiots review say this game was easy (2 hours of playtime btw). Bro CLEARLY didnt play the game enough because the game actually gets hard like mid act 2. I'm willing to bet he played the first 5 levels (which ARE easy) and called it a day. Lock in
