About
Ocean Cleaner Idle is an incremental solarpunk game. Use your mouse to pick up plastic and other trash from the ocean. Recycle trash into materials to upgrade your ship.
When Meerlinda rose to the surface, she was greeted with an awful sight! To her disgust there was a huge mass of waste polluting the waters. She found out that humans have been using the oceans as a garbage dump for all of their history. Furious about the mess, but not discouraged by it, she decides to fix the problem. She embarks on a mission to clean it all up!

Meerlinda’s ship Gentle Breeze combines Atlantean shipbuilding traditions with their latest technology. Its biomimetic hull is streamlined like a fish and built from sustainable materials. It is not reliant on fossil fuels as it is propelled by sails and powered by solar energy. It uses nets, traps and filters to collect seaborne trash.

Meerlinda uses recycled materials to upgrade her ship. The materials are split into four Tiers: plastic, cellulose, glass and metal. Upgrades help you clean the ocean faster. Some upgrades will collect trash automatically for the idle play experience.

Manual and automatic trash collection
Multiple ship upgrades
10 levels for each upgrade
4 different material tiers
Waves of trash

We were inspired to make our game by a real world problem that afflicts sea life around the world. It hurts and kills animals trapped in it. Microplastics carry toxic chemicals and accumulate in the food chain. There are already millions of tons of trash in the oceans and millions more are added every year. The size of the trash varies from microscopic pieces to whole ships abandoned to the ocean bottom. Most of the trash is plastic, but any material produced can end up there. Unfortunately cleaning up the oceans is not easy in real life. The best way to tackle the problem is to reduce the amount of trash that ends up in the ocean.
Reduce consumption of single-use products
Choose products packaged in re-usable or biodegradable materials
Instead of buying fast fashion, consider drift shopping
Don’t buy products with microbeads in them
Recycle your trash and dispose of it properly
Avoid seafood, and if you do eat it buy only from MSC certified producers to reduce trash from abandoned fishing nets
Support sustainable businesses, organizations and governments
Demonstrate your opinion
Demand laws to protect the oceans
Participate in coast cleanups and other local pro-environmental activities

It's a nice cozy clicker/idle game in which you collect trash in the ocean to recycle the trash into something more useful. Visuals of the game are pleasing and relaxing and if you are looking for something small and casual to sink some time into I would recommend to try this.
Either this game is bugged or the devs have no clue how to do satisfying progression. I'm at a stage where every upgrade costs 15.000, but I'm still here slogging away at clicking and collecting trash worth !!!five!!! bucks. The insanely rare occasions that something more valuable shows up are not enough. Nobody seems to have really checked out the balancing before release.

Your mind relaxes with the look and very cozy music of this experiment. Hopefully next upgrade makes ship actually go faster when boosted.
Good relaxing game to play after workday and good music
Pleasing visuals, calming sounds, a relevant and poignant narrative, whats not to like! 5 stars
I don't usually play these type of games, but decided to give it a shot. It involved a lot of clicking on the screen, to speed up the trash spawn-rate. The music and the boat took some time getting used to, but they grew on me as time went on. After playing an hour or so, collecting trash starts to lag down my PC a little. I also fought a substantial time trying to figure out where do I need to click to empty my trash collector. It was bugging out at times, is why. At the point when Glass was introduced into the game, it refused to be collected for me - halting my progress. I stopped playing after I had used plastic for all upgrades available for me. The "Completed" section doesn't have anything in it - not sure if the achievements were meant to pop up in that tab or what. While playing, I found myself wanting for a keybind to show/hide the banners on the side. Would've been convenient. The game also forgets some upgrades you have if you load from an old save. Despite the rough edges, the creators clearly put in a lot of effort in making the game pretty and the music was nice.
The game seems promising and fun. The graphics and sound design are cute, but the lack of tutorial or any hints on what to do or how some of the games mechanics work is a bummer. I know i didnt play long before writing this review, but not knowing what im doing or how the garbage collection system works for me to buy upgrades is kind of an turn off. Need to play more so i can give a better review, but for the start i can say this game seems like a fun idle/clicker game, just need a bit more polishing with an update or something!
Yes, it's addictive. Lovely idle game. ^^ 8/10.
This game is beautiful and I really appreciate the artstyle. I find it very relaxing to sit back after a hard days work and just spend my time collecting trash. I often think about what life would be like if I quit my job, purchased a boat and just roamed the ocean in search of trash. What became of all the things people once held so dear, before those items were discarded so carelessly into our precious ocean? What would I find out there on my boat all alone in the middle of the ocean, collecting trash? I like to believe that ultimately - I would find myself. 10/10 this game changed my life.
This game is visually pleasing and addictive. I played the demo extensively and will be excited to get the achievements unlocked for the full game now. I like the gameplay and it is such a cute game with a powerful message, keep our oceans clean!
