Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.43/day in the week to Aug 24 → 1.29/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About

Occupy Mars is a technical, open-world sandbox, survival game about Mars colonization inspired by the most promising technologies and companies that are working towards the goal of humanity becoming a multi-planet species.
Explore different regions of Mars while searching for valuable resources, discover mining sites, and find the best place to build a city. Remember that you need to find a relatively leveled area with good access to underground water in a place where temperatures don't drop too much during the night.

Build and upgrade your base, craft equipment, mine resources, produce water, oxygen and food, explore an open world, and repair complex machinery in a technical survival sandbox.

Manage your energy production and build your electricity grid. Make sure that there is enough water, oxygen, power, and food to survive.

Fix broken parts using realistic electronic components and tools. Learn the basics soldering, using hot air, measurement tools, and all the details necessary to fix your equipment.

Upgrade your vehicles and equipment in your garage. Organize your workshop and modify your rover. Change crane hydraulics, operate the robotic arm, dig for valuable resources, build mining rigs, and more...

Build greenhouses, oxygen tanks, fuel generators, connect all the pipes and cables, and remember about proper cable management. Grow your own food.

Experience an open-world sandbox game with a realistic day/night cycle and overcome real challenges that colonists face. Build solar arrays and batteries for energy storage, upgrade them, and find the optimal way to power your colony.

Occupying Mars is not always easy. Sometimes things will explode, break or not go exactly as planned. Learn to cope with "Rapid Unscheduled Disassembly.” Sometimes you have to really act quickly before you run out of air, food, or energy.

...but most importantly HAVE FUN on Mars!

I got it for $15 on sale, and I played at least 90+ hours. That's $0.16 per hour for entertainment of good quality. Haven't finished the main story yet. It's very playable on an older machine with 30 FPS. Conking out is rare, but does happen, Beyond this, very little problems. They could make it harder yet. I float within a day of gameplay playing single life. (that means all available, food+water+air+temp+power) It's fun for survival players, and it gives the feeling or truly being out there alone and doing your thing to survive, after it feels like breaking down of everything. Medium to good mechanics, could even be excellent, if not for the awkwardness of the camera during driving vehicles. That should be locked forward and freelook on key or such. Good physics, doing the lower gravity well, except ofc jumping, which is lousy like in most games or climbing. Even someone who's a lousy jumper could easily jump 1m upwards to even 1.5 straight up on Mars. But... It's not a requirement, and I still like the game. Tech tree is well done. Back to the game, writing this on a whim.
Game is horribly buggy and slow. It is basically still in an EA state. Main parts of the game not or just barely working due to bugs. And you still run into things where you have the feeling it is still WIP. On top (on my system) it struggles to get 60FPS (with drops as low as 10FPS and sometimes freezes for over a second), while the CPU is at 10%, GPU at 20%, RAM at 50%, and VRAM at 40%. There is no excuse.
I've been playing the game for about 60 hours now and I'm still hooked. I don't understand all the negative reviews. It's been a long time since a game has captivated me for so long. The exploration is fantastic. The botany is really well done. You grow things, transplant them, and then bring them to the big dome. Then you cook with so many recipes, and I haven't even unlocked them all yet. Farming ore with the Roover is really fun. Energy management, etc. is really well thought out. I'm now in the endgame and am about to build the rocket for the journey home. But actually, I don't want to leave. I hope there's a lot more to come. Stay tuned. I'm having a lot of fun with this game. The only thing I might rate negatively is the lag in the game... It has caused me to crash several times. But you save before that and everything is fine ;) Translated with DeepL.com (free version)
🚀🔴 Occupy Mars: The Game – Building a Life on the Red Planet 🛠️🏠
https://youtu.be/S0CZSyGZ6OE Occupy Mars puts you in the boots of an astronaut trying to survive and build a working base on the harsh surface of Mars. Starting with only basic equipment, you gather resources, construct modules, and slowly turn a barren patch of red dust into a functioning colony. Every system — power, oxygen, water, and food — needs to be carefully managed if you want to stay alive. 🔧 The gameplay focuses heavily on hands-on building and maintenance. You’ll connect cables, repair machines, grow crops in greenhouses, and upgrade your equipment as your base expands. It feels very technical at times, but that’s part of the charm — you’re constantly learning how to keep everything running. 🌌 Exploring the Martian landscape is another big part of the experience. With rovers and tools, you can venture out to gather resources and find better locations for expansion. But Mars is unforgiving, so one mistake with your life-support systems can quickly turn into a serious problem. If you enjoy realistic survival games and detailed base building, Occupy Mars offers a deep sandbox where patience and planning pay off. 🚀
This game is incredible! I haven't found any other games being set on the Mars just like occupy Mars is. It's perfectly delivering how difficult it can be to live on the Mars and how rewarding it can be to just get new things and survive. 10/10. I can just recommend it.
Initial bootup of the game is so slow that it read as "not responding" multiple times. Leaves a lot to be desired. Playable but its a lot of head scratching and wondering what to do, what to spend technology points on, how they are accumulated. The game is essentially suck it and see. Tutorial is a waste of time - it teaches nothing of any use in the game. Its very unfinished - almost like a collection of ideas that is just about to enter Beta testing. For example just found that drilling rocks doesn't just produce a smaller rock, if you drill the small bit again you can get minerals you use. I've spent ages looking for mini rocks as I thought I'd need some sort of processor. Its that bad.
