I like a lot about this game. You build stuff. You can farm. There's character customization. There are many characters your character can marry and same sex marriage is an option. Your character can have two kids. You can have kids via adoption. Mining and fishing are fun. There's combat. There's a free angle camera so you can look around. You have a rival. There's auto sort and auto sort into existing stack options when transferring inventory. You can custom color many things in the game (provided you have pigments). You can take pictures in the game and hang them in picture frames in your character's home.
this game has me so hooked. the gameplay loop is addictive, and it's nice to play a "farming sim"-type game where farming isn't at all the main focus. it's got some jank here and there and a lot of the voice acting is... not good, but overall a good time, especially when it's bought on sale. my only real issue is unfortunately a big one... the game crashes — and i've seen other people report the issue from years ago. i had it crash multiple times in one evening. i saw someone give a workaround of closing and reopening the game every 2-3 in-game days which seems to work, just annoying to do. apologies to my steam friends who see me opening it several times in one evening!

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

It took a long time for me to get into this game because of the goofy graphic but tbh it's probably on the top of the list at the moment when it comes to my favorite farming sims. Mining was fun, loved fullfulling comissions and annoying Higgins, seeing all the machines at my workplace doing their thing was satisfying. Befriending people here takes a LONG TIME especially with characters like Ginger, but i loved how the more you befriended certain characters you also gained friendship points with the people they are close to, which is cool because it's sort of in life too. You gain a good relationship with someone and the word spread. Another neat thing was that the marriage candidates all was very varied, some are super odd while others were pretty cool. My cons for the most is the fact that some of the quests are timed annoyed me greatly. And some of the quests you get are requiring machines you not yet have unlocked. So sometimes you are basically screwed over by this. There was one quest where i was supposed to make a ring for a guy to propose to the girl he liked, but it was timed and i did not yet aquire that machine needed for it and i wasn't as far into the main story to be able to get some of the items for it. So i was like darn it NOOO Except for that great game, just hated the timed quests.
A game I've owned as soon as it was on Early access, and followed since the Kickstarter but Only Just finished recently, between life and just wanting to wait for the more complete project it's taken this long to circle back to. But it was worth, in spite of the jank, the lack of polish the occasional element that feels a bit unfinished, its a fantastic game. Even many of the most criticised elements I find, fine, I like the fishing, I think its a lot more tactile and rewarding compare to other more popular games in the genre. I like the abandoned ruins, I find them quite chill mindful experiences...and at least its not infinite floors of high stress and spamming food and bombs to get through til you actually get materials you need. You go to a place when you need materials and move on. And if you need to more combat related items then you have an option to use cash to get those items. And the combat itself I find fine, targeting generally works as you want it too, its fairly relaxed and there's plenty of ways to deal with it. The platforming is generous enough that its not really a problem and its a little bit of variety rather than a reskin of the same mine content over and over again. Voice acting is generally fine but obvious the different places it got recorded in, and when its not there at major points its noticable, they should have aim for more of a selective voiced dialog, like Legend of Zelda does, far less work and just ensure the important bits are covered. This game tries, actually tries to be fresh, tries to tell a story and tries to be a lot of things and it generally succeeds. It's not afraid to be a bit sad, it doesn't just use vague plot points as bait, it doesn't bring up a trope and go absolutely no where with it, in a decade of updates. I love the characters, I love they are generally so cheery and pleasant in spite of the post apocalyptic setting, and not all unrepentant aholes like characters in other popular games all seem to feel the need to make them. It tells a story and finishes it, the major unresolved things feel like a future games story, and I hope we see them resolved in Evershine to be honest, 3 games, near 10 years is enough to let a story go unresolved, let's not become Kingdom Hearts. Enjoyed the soundtrack, even the slightly "legally" distinct tracks that sound like other major games tracks (I cannot not hear the Sim Build mode in the commissioners guild), the voiced track is sweet and nice end note to a long journey. At £5 or less than £10 with all the game content DLC its a bargain on sale, but I'd say it's worth the full price. I didn't really go much for the alternate costumes myself, particularly the going to a Gala type ones, just felt too out of place for me but I get the appeal for the Sim vibe. A game far more deserving of recognition for its effort and difference than other games this (wrongfully) gets labelled a 3D clone of, that game is just 2D harvest moon (which already existed) and never had its own identity for anything to be called a clone of it, it's story has no teeth and no point and in 10 years of updates (but it's not "early access") has gone exactly nowhere with the sea of tropes it brings up. this while obvious is in the "life sim" genre (not really farming sim, there's very little planting needed and no really depth to it) it has always stood on its own identity with it's own goal. Get it and stop accepting mediocre clones as the pinnacle of the genre.

I have played this before on PS4 (and got platinum), and I remember disliking a lot of things, replaying this, they really are irritating lol. Now, with mods here on PC, this is a 100 times better experience. Also, having playing Sandrock, I would say get that, they fixed so many issues this game has. TLDR: Play it with mods, trust me, get more trees, save anywhere, store from anywhere, make machines work faster, etc. The game is a HUGE grind (especially at the beginning), unfortunately, some of it is fun, but most of it is very stretched, like main story idk why they keep doing this (it is also the same in Sandrock). Like you can go 3 - 5 in-game days with no main mission! But my main advice, get the second one if you can.
