Mortal Shell 2 was a big step up from the 1st, the game quickly became one of my favorites soulslikes close to lies of P. The game feels very Elden Ring-ish at a smaller scale, the exploration is mostly rewarded with tons of different items and end up making for a good customization/build variety. Unfortunately there were a few things i did not enjoy, first is the way you upgrade shells(glimpses), right now it is very limited, it blocks experimentation and you end you not swapping shell's because you cannot reset the points already invested in the shell even though everything else in the game is resettable, even weapon upgrades. I also think the last boss is not balanced at all, it has too much hp and has a split second grab that pretty much 1shots any shell, it feels out of place comparing to the rest. Overall i still enjoyed most of the game and i think it's a must play for anyone who enjoys soulslikes.

Very fun and runs perfectly.
DISCLAIMER: I will change this review in the future when i have more hours of gameplay. As of current, (pre-release) the game presents some aspects that me, as a player (individually) dislike, and also some aspects that are negative IN GENERAL. That being said i will start the review with the latter. #1 Non-stop crashes Already highly present in the reviews, so i hope there's a high chance this gets fixed by the developers in the first few patches. #2 Lack of animations for the interactions (or "action buttons") I'm not really sure if this is a bug or if it's intended, but in most interactions where i expect some animation to occur, the player character just stands there and the thing happens. Feels very rpg-maker-ish. Now my PERSONAL opinion on some things as someone who plays souls-likes since 2011: #3 EASY-MODE is added I know a lot of people enjoy an option to have the "easy-mode", so in this game it comes in the form of an item, and equipping it disables the Achevements. And even though i don't really like this as a whole, the addition itself is AMBIGUOUS — I know a LOT of players who don't read ANYTHING and ANY description they come across, so not only the prompt on the screen doesn't make clear if the achievements gets disable by simply ACQUIRING the item or if you ahve to equip it, most player who don't read anything might end up deactivating their achievements accidentally. #4 You already start the game with a sidearm While this one is extremely personal, i remember in Mortal Shell 1 you had to acquire the sidearm after some time in the game, so having it since the beginning feels a little too much i'm not gonna lie — Maybe even a little overwhelming for new players. To wrap it up, i want to make clear that my negative review is due to the CRASHES specifically, and will be changed accordingly in the eventual case they get fixed ^^ Thank you so much for the attention and comprehention,
einfach geil
