Modeled estimate, not a reported figure. How we estimate →
Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Charts
Each storefront's own chart, in its own country — the closest public signal to sales where none is published. A country missing from a list is one we don't collect there, not one where the game doesn't chart.
No United States chart position — it charts only in the markets below.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 21.86/day in the week to Sep 8 → 32.29/day in the week after.

Add-ons
Each DLC is estimated with the same model as a game, then summed — a modeled figure, not reported DLC sales.
Sums Steam only; PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo publish no volume signal, so the true total is higher by an unknown amount.

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 26: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Too few observations to say whether a discount moves this store's chart at all: across the last 30 days Steam · Top Sellers · Poland has just 18 day-to-day chart moves that followed a price cut, against 2,498 that did not. We are publishing the count instead of a direction — 20 is the fewest we will draw a conclusion from, and price collection outside the United States began on 6 August 2026.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Monster Hunter: Rise, I am sorry I was so harsh to you. I never hated you for trying to be different, only for the ways I felt like you compromised the formula. Thank you, Monster Hunter developers, for trying to do new things with the series; for trying to experiment with what ways things could be changed to keep things fresh and fun. I don't think you really found any of it with this game? But I must give you props for trying instead of doing the same exact game over and over and letting the series stagnate into obscurity and burnout. HOWEVER I don't think that the short comings should be glossed over and forgotten about. I think that critical analysis is required if you actually care about this series. tl;dr Monster Hunter: Rise messes with the formula to create something quicker and more honed in on fighting monsters than previous entries. But in some ways it is more faithful to older games than Monster Hunter: World was. I dislike most of the aesthetics of this game, I think making it primarily for the Switch was a awful move for everyone who wasn't playing on the Switch and I can't even confirm if it's a good experience on there. The switch skills were an excellent idea and I look forward to their return. My opinions on the new monster designs are mixed though, my thorn is Almudron and my rose is definitely Goss Harag. But the monsters are not what really gets me. What really gets me is how the Palamute is used and general hunter power creep. Though the Palamute can not take you directly to a monster like the Raider Ride in World does, it serves as a vessel for the maps to be bigger and emptier without adding more stuff to them. I'm quite fond of this new kind of companion, but I dislike how it helps to corral you in to breezing over these maps. If you aren't riding the dog around quests, then you're probably launching yourself around with wirebugs. I think wirebugs are tight on a mechanical level but they introduce so much power creep I can not condone the mechanics as a whole. Wirebug moves are a rehash of the Hunter Arts from Generations Ultimate but with reworks and new moves. This is half of the power creep problem I think, with the other half being a general increase of the speed and mobility of the player character. Letting hunters do super power moves and then catapult themselves out of the way so that they can walk like Usain Bolt runs while they chug health recovery did damage to the experience. This is two fold as it also encourages the developers to necessitate the usage of wirebugs by adding incredibly deadly AOE attacks that require you to pull yourself away from the fight. Hunters got stronger and of course they had to make monsters stronger to keep up, but I feel that a lot of that difficulty comes from AOE and unblockable ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. I have nostalgia for Kamura Village, and there is a well of secondary content for players to enjoy. Despite all the bad things I have said, there is still plenty to get sucked into. The Spiritbirds are a poorly thought out concept in my opinion and I didn't need them to explore maps and discover what riches the developers left for us. There may be mile after mile of just geometry, but some of the team used these larger maps to hide things for players to find as they continue to play. And though no one likes Rampages I will again commend them for experimenting. No, it is not a good Monster Hunter game. But it is a pretty decent game.
