Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.43/day in the week to Jul 30 → 0.43/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

MMO98 is a great little incremental game, packed with enough to keep you entertained for a while. I still feel there's more I've not yet seen (lootboxes) and several upgrades I've got to get around to. The prestige is interesting concept with releasing a new game and seeing your cash flow in from that release and ongoing player hype and server upkeep.

It's a fun game, and that's what matters to me. No gamebreaking bugs or anything. Finished it with full achievements in 7 hours, and I think this is the sweet spot. If it continued any further, it may not have been ideal.
Fun little nostalgia trip. I like the theme and most of the mechanics. Depending on which research updates you get, you may start skipping whole game mechanics pretty early in the game. I would say it doesn't really provide meaningful challenge to experienced incremental player but it's worth checking out. This is incremental game but not really clicker or idler. In sequel I would like to see maybe more zoomed in view focusing on game dev simulation mechanics like optimizing areas and quests to get maximum amount of players through some section of the leveling in game.
7.9/10 Incremental games are a category of game I used to really dislike. I often would play them for maybe 30 minutes at most and then go back to something far more action based like skyrim. But in recent years I've found them very comforting and one of my favorite types of games to play in my older age. MMO98 is no exception to this, providing that typical gameplay you can zone out to as you master its, admittedly sometimes a bit more confusing than I'd like, systems and watch your numbers skyrocket. Story Usually in my reviews I'll divide up games into categories of story, gameplay, and audio. But in a game like MMO98, there isn't exactly a story involved so I'll exclude that portion for this particular review. I will say however that the fact that there is a minimal story is ideal in a case like this as it is in most clicker games. You're a game dev running servers and dealing with bugs in your MMO game. There's a visual on screen akin to games like Old School Runescape but it doesn't actually affect the game itself. Although I found this sort of blank slate to be rather fun, being able to come up with my own headcanon of sorts as to how my studio got started, what my games were about, how my "character" would react and handle servers going down and the like, similar to how one may make up a backstory for their RPG character when the game doesn't provide them with one. Gameplay MMO98 is about as typical of an incremental game as you can get. You get upgrades for your MMO, get servers, buy employees to help you run them, deal with bugs, and slowly over time gain more and more automation of the various processes that are involved in running your studio. Eventually you can even get to the point where all you need to do is release a game and make millions of dollars with upgrades that lasts through the games which act as the games version of prestiging, resetting your skills and temporary upgrades. One of the issues I had though is that it was unclear at times what something actually did. I had to spend about 20 minutes reading up online guides and getting help from the discord server (which was a wonderful group to interact with, I love when the devs actively participate in their games server) to fully understand all of the games terminology and what certain upgrades actually did or what icons or symbols meant. For example, at one point my text strings for bugs would occasionally turn red, and I could not figure out why it happened. I eventually gave up and looked online, only to discover that it was caused by an upgrade whose description was too vague to clearly explain its effect. Otherwise though, once you do learn the mechanics, it's extremely satisfying to get mastery of the game, to the point where I didn't want to stop until I unlocked everything and all, at the time of this review, 21 trophies. My biggest disappointment was simply that the game eventually ran out of content to give me. I wanted more of what MMO98 had to offer and enjoyed nearly every minute I spent with it. This was especially impressive considering its very reasonable $6.99 (in USD) price point. Audio The audio in MMO98 was fine. Servicable. The music and sound effects fit from start to finish with nothing particularly standing out. Typically as with most incremental games, I eventually muted the music and listened to Spotify while playing. That speaks less to a problem with the game’s soundtrack and more to the type of game that MMO98 is, something relaxing, easy to play, and sort of a second screen experience while doing other things.
Its not too much incremental per se. But it is fun. For a while. 5.5/10. Get it on sale.
Jeu très rafraichissant ! Dommage qu'il n'y ait pas de New Game + mais en tout cas j'ai adoré :)
Nice feelings! ♥
The in-game mascot told me to alt f4, 10/10.
