Think the first mirrors edge except in an open world where you have to run back and forth on the same obstacles and objects to turn in missions and get new ones.... Comparing this to the original it feels like time sink padding. check out the first game it is timeless... idk if my game time is accurate... 1.5 hours but i did several missions where i had to back track.... back to "home base" to get another.... It just was bad...the entire experience was bad, the entire time i played I was just trying to give it the benefit of the doubt until I HAD to stop.

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 23: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Warning: Nit Picking Art Style They ruined the only thing Mirrors Edge truly had going for it, its art style. Mirrors Edge 1 looked beautiful, with its very bright, minimalistic, dreamlike set pieces. The atmosphere was everything in that game. Everything was so bright and sterile it felt as if you were traversing through a highly sanitized, corporate controlled, dystopia. The rooftops felt isolated as if no one was supposed to see them. Mirrors Edge Catalyst throws all of this out of the window for the sake of replacing it with a generic future-slop art style. The feeling of isolation is gone, as the rooftops are now populated with other runners. The thing I liked most about the original game was how liminal it felt. With that being said, gameplay is a solid 10/10. Cleanest traversal system I've ever experienced. Overall score: 7/10, minus 3 points for the lack of the OG art style. Also, the servers for this game have been shutdown, BUT THE GAME IS STILL FULLY PLAYABLE. Some reviewers are saying it isn't. This is simply not true.
God i hate EA just shut your trash company down already like omg
It's OK. While the core movement has actually been improved somewhat since the original Mirror's Edge, they made so many other strange design choices that you ultimately end up with a worse experience anyway. It's a perfect example of "less is more." This game is very much a product of its time - meaning - uninspired 2010s open world, pick up stuff, upgrade your character, fast travel, which in my opinion takes away from the overall experience. The original is straight to the point, going from mission to mission with no fluff, and it worked perfectly that way. Catalyst has it's moments, but it definitely falls short as a sequel/reboot or whatever.
FAK YOU BRADAR. FAK YOUR NAME, FAK YOUR GAME.
Game does not play past the first cutscene due to constantly checking for servers that don't exist anymore. You HAVE to use Windows Firewall to block its internet access in order to actually play the game.
It's not perfect, but it's unique and fun. Huge pity that they just gave up on making more Mirror's Edge games.
One of my favorite games of all time. I genuinely love this series with all my heart. The aesthetics are incredible, the movement and gameplay feel so smooth and satisfying, and the story really stuck with me. The character designs are unique and memorable, and the whole world has such a distinct vibe that no other game really captures. The combat could’ve been improved a bit, sure — but even with its flaws, the experience is something special. It’s honestly sad that the community is so small because this game deserved way more recognition and love than it got. No matter what, this series will always have a special place in my heart.
