For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Call of Cthulhu is a first person investigate/detective game and an official adaptation of Choasium's pen & paper RPG of the same name. The game is anchored in Boston, Massachusetts, in a classical lovecraftian setting, featuring an assortment of Innsmouth inspired backdrops, Cthulhu cultists and eccentric individuals. Center of all this is the protagonist Edward Pierce, a grizzled WW1 veteran turned sleuth and alchoholic. He gets tasked by Stephen Webster to discover the truth of the deaths of the Hawkins family, including his daugther, whom was quickly blamed by the local police for the fire that led to the deaths of herself, her son and her husband. What follows is at the high level, an intriquing overarching storyline, and what makes you sit through this middling experience. But at the low level plot height, it feels held together, like a fractured mind, whom experienced something otherworldly. It's got atmosphere and mood, but as you get in to the core story it starts falling apart. Between disjointed dialog, which sometimes doesn't match in writing what is stated spoken, or situations where a character says to meet Edward Pierce later, only for Edward to ask him why the hell he's there when they meet again. Or jumbled points of view as you suddenly play from the perspective of another character, but still being experienced by Edward, makes for a very incoherent experience which ultimately drags the game down in to the depths. As for the gameplay elements they are at best very mediocre, you basically go through the game clicking interact on a host of different elements, some which adds dialog options, some which are missable, but most which ultimately feels kinda pointless, as the narrative is driven forward regardless as dialogs tells one story, while loading screen can tell another. There's also a detective mechanic, the Reconstruction Scenes, which feels rather supernatural as Edward pieces together crime scenes or scenes of past history, seemingly from very little, but there's nothing to the mechanic other then clicking all the respective elements and then exiting out of it. It further falls apart once the mechanic shows up while Edward is expericing another characters point of view, and they go through the Reconstruction scene. The game also features RPG mechanics in the form of the usual attribute system, but right from the opening scene it asks you how you want to distribute a handful of points, with no guidance or idea of what to expect or how these attributes may even be used throughout the game. But ultimately all they do is make you miss certain things, or open or close verious dialog options throughout the game. So increasing the stats feels both arbitrary and rather pointless. You could argue this is supposed to add artifical repeat playthrough possibilities, but at the end of the game, all but one ending was available to choose from, and available to see from a short reload, and the overall story doesn't change with different dialog options or stat choices. Technically the game also utilizes a Checkpoint system, rather than manual save states. This can be incredibly frustrating as the game also features Game Over scenes, Stealth elements and laughbly poor combat mechanics that all have fail states, meaning sometimes you have to play 5-10 minutes again because progress is not saved often enough. The game may well have been an interesting graphical novel, instead of a linear, cinematic, walking simulator. But unfortunately it lacks the depths from which Cthulhu rises.
Recently, I have played up to 3 games, where their ‘Mostly Positive’ reviews score doesn’t really capture the game’s content or range. Call of Cthulhu is wholeheartedly a victim of such ill-treatment, in my opinion. Even though I am almost a decade late, being late is better than never, I’m not sure what bothered people to such an extent. “Us, men of the sea, are superstitious folks.” Damp, isolated, and seemingly plunged into eternal rain and darkness, this island, with residents of myriad sorts and profiles, is where the “Call” summons you. There’s horror… and then, there’s Lovecraft. I feel like it would take a lot to explain why it’s so captivating and scary… scary in more than just dread and terror, maybe in an appealing way. And even if I tried to explain it, I would still come short. This is one of the many reasons that make it just so abhorrently great, and to experience it in a visual and auditory medium is greater. I think the greatest achievement in this game is the voice acting, which is supported by fantastic atmosphere, a completely deranged plot, and a set of events. The protagonist has more courage than I, for if I were in his shoes, I would have been long gone. The protagonist goes through multiple breakdowns and anxiety attacks which are a staple of the genre, however, the way they are displayed is what really drives them through: the protagonist’s-no, YOUR hair goes all sideways and your eyes widen but your vision tightens, your helpless heart pounds… and pounds and pounds, till you can hear nothing else, and then, when you gather enough courage to merely try to look up, at that… that thing which shan’t be named, is where you shake and collapse. As always, the mark of a great Lovecraftian experience is to be so utterly done with what’s happening and just want out, by death or whatever means, and so was I by the end. I beseech the reader, if he is a fan of the Old and Original inventor of these here dreams, Lovecraft, not to be dismayed by the reviews of this game and to play it himself, for this game is not only accurate to the lore it's based on, but it also presents it in a most mesmerizing way with a story and characters worth beholding.
Incredibly atmospheric and with a decent story but very, very linear. RPG mechanics are mostly fluff. They don't change much throughout the game but some choices do have significant impact on the ending. All in all it's not a bad experience for the money if you view it as a simple point and click adventure game rather than an RPG.
Steam Deck
Runs incredibly efficient and looks really well on the small screen. Definitely one to consider playing on deck. (review time is from two full playthroughs)
Call of Cthulhu is a game about a detective slowly decending into the mad world of Cthulhu. Sadly the only true madness I experienced was the amount of rage this game induced while playing it. So here's a list of everything I disliked about this game. - Sound Now this is probably the smallest of the issues this game has but it's still worth mentioning: the sound mixing is bad. Every time you change from free roaming to a cutscene or cinematic the volume changes drastically. One moment you're talking calmly to a character and the next moment their voice actor is screaming at you. Additionally you can really tell when they recorded voicelines on different days. It's not too bad, but very obvious especially at the earlier parts of the game. - Dialogues and save games The dialogues in Call of Cthulhu are unpredictable. You want to actually get all of the information in a quiet situation? Too bad, you clicked the one option that just ends all other dialogue and locks you out of learning more about the situation! Should've guessed better! But no problem, in a case like this where the game just ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up a little it's okay to just reload your save file, right? No! Says the developer, by including mandatory autosaves with no option for manual saving! This is obviously a mechanic intended to force you to live with your decisions, but was it really my decision to skip all of the dialogue without warning in your story driven game by clicking an option like any other? Oh well, at least the little dialogue I got to see was good, right? Right??? - Everything written I've read every information, every little description of all the trinkets and baubles, every log entry and descriptions of places, and damn are there many spelling and grammar errors. English isn't even my native language, yet I still noticed some blatant errors in about 50% of the optional texts you can read. I don't want to know how many I might have missed. It's just inexcusable to have this many errors in your story driven game. Text should be your bread and butter and half of it is just a hot mess. - The illusion of choice Call of Cthulhu offers you a variety of skills you can master over the course of the game to impact your decisions and alter the course of the game - at least that's what the game tells you. In reality, all skills have little impact on how you play the game and most skills have absolutely no impact on how the game ends. Over the course of the game there seemed to be only 2 or 3 decision and actions you could take that actually really impacted anything. Even the way you approach dialogues with people really didn't matter. You left out mentioning crucial information while talking to a new person of interest and yet again accidentally skipped half the dialogue by clicking an option? Doesn't matter! They act like you clicked every other option and told them about everything anyway. This happened multiple times and really gave me the feeling that nothing I do or say actually matters. A friend bought me this game and watched me play it. We were both very confused about what this game actually has to offer. Some other reviews mentioned that this game is worth it just for the Cthulhu lore and I heavily disagree. This game isn't horrible but it's perfectly below average in nearly every aspect. The cinematics were nice, I guess. Overall Call of Cthulhu is a story driven RPG, where skills don't matter, the story is linear and poorly written, decision don't actually exist until basically the very ending and voice actors occasionally scream into your ears. 3/10 buy it for 3 bucks and you might still regret it.
Buy it on sale, it's a very average game. Play it once and forget about. The dialogue choices you make don't seem to really matter. For the most part the game is "on rails" and it's just a matter of did you use the front door or the backdoor with your chosen skills affecting which options are available. The stealth sections are barebones and I don't know who thought it was a good idea to put a shooting section in the game. The detective work is unsatistfying, it's just click on all the clue prompts and the MC will eventually just tell you what happen at the crime scene.
Feels like the game doesn't know what's it trying to be. A detective RPG? only for the first few chapters. Then it turns into a railroaded walking simulator. I didn't feel like any of my stats really mattered - it's not like they prevent me from progressing, as, i think, there was always only a single path forward. The stats just add some minimal flavor to how you approach that path forward. You don't really miss out on anything from only having a 2/5 medicine rather than 4/5 or 5/5 except for 3 extra lines of dialogue
