Prices
The United States storefront in every case, so this compares stores and not countries.
Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
13 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Charts
Each storefront's own chart, in its own country — the closest public signal to sales where none is published. A country missing from a list is one we don't collect there, not one where the game doesn't chart.
No United States chart position — it charts only in the markets below.

god i wish they let kojima cook like a year or two longer
Trash full of bloat. Story is probably the worst of all MGS games.

13 on sale2 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 2 “not sold” markets are read from the Steam price pass of Sep 11: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price in those. The 13 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

## Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain – Review *Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain* was actually my first proper MGS game, and honestly, it was one hell of a way to get introduced to the series. I went into it knowing very little about the overall story, but the game immediately got me interested in the bigger picture. Who are these people? What happened to them? Why does everyone seem to have some sort of history with everyone else? The more I played, the more I wanted to understand what was actually going on. The gameplay is easily one of the strongest parts of the game. The open-world approach gives you a ridiculous amount of freedom in how you approach missions. You can sneak through an area, snipe enemies from a distance, go in guns blazing, use your buddies to help, or come up with some completely stupid plan that somehow works. There are plenty of tools and weapons to experiment with, and the base-building and recruiting systems give you plenty to do outside of the main missions. What really impressed me, though, was how much the game made me want to learn about the wider MGS universe. Since this was my first game in the series, I was constantly looking up characters, events and references to figure out what the hell was happening. Instead of putting me off, it had the opposite effect—it made me want to go back and experience the older games to understand the full story. Hideo Kojima did a great job bringing everything together, especially considering how complicated the MGS storyline can get. The characters, twists and overall mystery kept me invested throughout the game. The biggest shame is that the game feels unfinished. Knowing what happened behind the scenes with Kojima and Konami makes it even more frustrating, because you can clearly see that there was more planned. Some story elements feel like they were cut short or left hanging, and it leaves you wondering what the finished version could have looked like if Kojima had been able to complete his vision. Despite that, *The Phantom Pain* is still an incredible game. It got me hooked on a series I had barely touched before, and for that alone, it deserves a lot of credit. The gameplay is fantastic, the freedom is ridiculous, and the mystery surrounding the characters and story kept me playing long after I probably should have stopped. For a game that was my introduction to MGS, it definitely did its job. It made me want to know more—and that's probably the biggest compliment I can give it. **Overall: 9/10.** Fantastic gameplay, tons of freedom and a story that got me completely hooked on the MGS universe. It's just a shame Kojima never got the chance to fully finish what he started.
Why are we still here? Just to suffer?

6/24/2026 Today is where I ended my year-long struggle of getting 100% in this game. The metal gear franchisewill always remain special to me, for its stealth, story, and everything in between. This one might not be the best in all of those things, infact some people think this is the worst game in the series. Despite the fact that the story is unfinished, the gameplay is the most fun stealth action ive ever experienced in a videogame. There is just so much stuff you can do with a plethora of ways to tackle missions which is something not seen very often nowadays in more modern story games. My enjoyment in the game severely declined after I tried getting all the achievements, however despite it all, I cant say I had an overall negative experience with it. So if your into more sandboxy adventure games with less reliance on a story, or your just a fan of stealth genre or want to get into it, this game is perfect for that. 7.5/10
Due to the controversy surrounding its release, I still find it difficult to evaluate the game fairly. Without EP51, the story was clearly incomplete. The gameplay itself is highly enjoyable; while there are complaints and minor glitches, I am satisfied with the game generally. It is fair to say that, as the final entry in the series, it lacked that crucial finishing touch. MGSV was built from the ground up as a multi-platform title—its ending (symbolized by data loading from a Sony cassette player into a Microsoft MSX) effectively declared an end to the console war—and while the series reached a conclusion of sorts, the game's own narrative ends abruptly. However, since the ending left everything up to the players, the fact that modders continue to desire and attempt to fill those castrated voids and omissions—what Hideo Kojima calls the "eternal blank"—arguably mirrors the very nature of the capitalist economy and the money game of numbers presented within the game itself. I think it’s a good game.
We'll make diamonds from their ashes... take them in battle with us MGSV is a truly great game, despite all the hate and dislike from fans, I think it's a great addition to the Metal Gear series. It's the first game I've given a second chance exactly a year after I abandoned it. This game gets an easy 9.5/10
