Modeled estimate, not a reported figure. How we estimate →
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Charts
Each storefront's own chart, in its own country — the closest public signal to sales where none is published. A country missing from a list is one we don't collect there, not one where the game doesn't chart.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.

Reviews
Pretty faithful remake and I love this game. I'm currently on my 6th playthrough and I have played every version of this game now including every rerelease. My only complaint is that they left out Boss Rush from subsistence, other than that absolutely beautiful. "Mission complete, and how they're going to tell stories about this one, boss." -Master Miller
This was my first experience with Snake Eater (I never played the original). Overall I would say it's a good remake/remaster with some caveats. Pricing being a major one. In my 22 hours I've completed one playthrough on normal focusing on non-lethal stealth, collected all but two camos, all but two face paints, roughly half of the little ducks & frogs, and two thirds of the Steam achievements. I pretty much ignored the film cannisters and food collecting. Performance: I did not experience any graphical or performance issues. It ran at its full 60 FPS at 2k resolution using maxed out ultra settings for my entire playthrough. My system is a desktop at the lower end of the upper range running on an m.2 SSD with a Ryzen 7 9700X, RTX 5070 Ti, and 32 GB DDR5 RAM. Mechanics: It definitely feels like an old game with some tweaks, additions, and a new coat of paint. Even with the new control scheme there are still some missing mechanics that are considered standard in sneaking games today. A few examples (these are not seen as pros or cons)

When attached to cover you can't effectively peek/lean or shoot
Movement in general feels dated with some clunky push to interact mechanics
Doors are either open or closed and you can't see through them so if there is a guard on the other side you will smack them and they will raise the alarm
Reloading always resets you to the beginning of a map: if you spent 30+min sneaking through the base and make one mistake now you have to restart from the beginning. Punishing for trial and error.
The small segmented maps definitely harken back to games of our past
The enemy AI can be pretty stupid and sometimes be absolutely blind but other times have hawk eyes.
Price: I got this game on sale for $28 USD. I feel at that price I got my money's-worth. If I had ignored my gut and bought the game at the full $70 price tag, I probably would have felt differently. I think at most it's worth about $40. It is exceptionally short unless you're trying to earn all of the titles and want to replay the campaign 50 times, and it's also shot-for-shot a remake of the original. Yes, it's very cool how closely they stuck to the original and I feel like this is a great example of how a remake should be. But it's also not a brand new game and it doesn't feel like one. The story, the designs, the cinematography, and all of the major creative decisions were made 22 years ago. So there is no way to justify a brand-new modern game price for a 22 year-old-game with some fresh paint.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 2: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,515 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Good ♥♥♥♥
今朝品尝旧时乐,可知曾经何芳华; 感叹故人通文武,怒斥科乐美司马。
Important note: I played the original PS2 version back when I was a kid and it quickly became my favorite game. I completed it well over fifty times. Once the HD Collection came out on PS3, I did the same thing. Once the Master Collection came out, I beat it a few more times. Less than normal, as I don't have all day to throw at gaming anymore. When this came out, I got it for PS5 and again, loved it. Then my television broke and instead of buying another one, I bought the game again for PC. I say all of that to say, I've played this game for thousands of hours in one format or another. The graphics are great. The original still looks good and holds up nicely, but this one does look notably better. Namely, in enemy detection. As you may know, the enemy uniforms sometimes made them invisible at distance back on the older versions. However, now that all shades of green aren't more or less identical at beyond 30 feet and human beings don't bleed into the background, you can make things out much better. For those that demand the classic urine-filter, fear not, you can have it. You can also play with the classic camera style. The game feels akin to MGSV in terms of movement, aiming and shooting. The MK22 now sadly has some absolutely unreal bullet drop, so don't expect to be landing those long headshots too easily. This is unfortunate, as now the heads can actually be seen due to the graphics upgrade. Character models, emotions on display, etc., look great. They did nerf Eva's chest, much to my dismay. Ocelot periodically mogs or looks autistic, there's not much in between. Is the game good? Obviously. Does it look good? Of course. The only real question is this: Are you a super noble hero because you are so excessively loyal to Hideo Kojima that you refuse to play this game you begged for for a decade because he didn't personally spearhead it?
