Charts
Each storefront's own chart, in its own country — the closest public signal to sales where none is published. A country missing from a list is one we don't collect there, not one where the game doesn't chart.
No United States chart position — it charts only in the markets below.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 55/day in the week to Aug 28 → 71.14/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,419 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

【STORY】
THE ILLUSION OF PEACE FALTERS
In 1964, after saving the world from all-out nuclear war, Naked Snake, a true hero, receives the name Big Boss, but he disappears shortly after the naming ceremony.
Ten years later, Big Boss is running an independent military unit in Columbia, when he is visited by two individuals from Costa Rica, a country without a military.
In a post-Cuban Missile Crisis world, and in a Central America essential to maintaining the power balance between East and West, Costa Rica has been miraculously able to maintain peace.
However, a mysterious armed group has been seen acting suspiciously throughout the region.
They request Big Boss to investigate and eliminate the armed group.
Though he hesitates to accept the request because the tape they brought contained the voice of The Boss, who was supposed to be dead.

VIC BOSS!
I am so glad to see Peace Walker back in 2026. I have pretty much ZERO issues with the game... other than the fact that the keyboard and mouse controls are insanely broken. This isn't a big deal breaker to me, but it makes me wonder if anyone tested these features before release. If you were wondering- the multiplayer is fairly active. If you and your friends are Metal Gear Solid fans, this is a great Co-Op experience!

By far one of the greatest ports in steam history.
игра супер неслушате дебилов. на стимдеки идет заебись и мультиплер работает
Love this game. But fix the Mouse Issue.... My wrist is hurting from high sens.
absolute cinema
A very great game and, in my opinion, one of the best Metal Gear games. A few small things I would like to see be implemented in the game in a future update.

Be able to skip the launcher to go straight into the game. Would be nice to have that for all the other games as well.
LAN support. One day the severs for this game will go offline so having LAN support would be a great way to preserve the multiplayer after the online shuts down. Maybe its already in there but its not listed on the Steam page.
I like to have an option to remove the (HD Edition) subtitle from the main title screen as well as the character art from the loading screen. Not a huge issue at all and I don't expect them to ever change this but it would be a nice option to have. It would be nice to have for MGS2 and 3 as well.
Thanks for bringing this game to PC. It's been great on Legion Go S albeit with a few bugs that will hopefully be fixed soon. -XOXO Amadeus
Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker is the definitive image of what an MGS anime would be like - and I think it's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ awesome. Normally if you sit on the main menu screen, the visuals will fade out and then play the briefing that sets up the game. But in Peace Walker, we get a badass, stylized anime opening with an iconic track. From that point forward, we're thrust into a unique setting as we experience the story through comic book style cutscenes - and the artwork is really well done! There's a wide range of characters, each with their own motivations, that you really come to appreciate, accentuated by some really funny codec calls you can get from them (my favorite is a call from Kaz - when you're out on the field hunting a specific character, Kaz will say "Good god, the man can swim his way out of Alcatraz!" it actually made me laugh out loud with the way it was delivered). Not to mention, there's plenty of sequences that require your cooperation, engaging the player with the cutscenes so as to keep their focus. Lots of fun quicktime events, and, at least for me, the hardest torture sequence in the franchise. For those that have played The Phantom Pain, the gameplay will be familiar, if not a bit promethean. I was stuck to it like glue though, because there's something so mesmerizing about a game like this that was originally on the PSP. It's jam-packed with a beefy campaign that doesn't overstay its welcome, and over 100 side missions, some repetitive, but others with wacky premises, like holding enemies up with a banana, shooting down fulton balloons, and hunting ghosts. Every mission I completed had me going, "This would've been such a fun side episode if this were a real show." I may be in the minority here, but by embracing this game as the anime it was trying to emulate, I ended up having such a blast with the Final Final Boss of the game. Instead of your dramatic and intense battle music, you get a J-Pop song sung by the Japanese voice actress of Paz. Hearing this in the background while fighting for your life was such a surreal experience, one that I thoroughly enjoyed. Overall, I was surprised by how sucked in I was on this game. I played it all the way through to completion on my PS5, so my Steam hours don't reflect my overall playtime. But this was a game that I felt compelled to write a review for. It's awesome to be a soldier without borders.
