The fourth game in the METAL GEAR series: set over two incidents in 2007 and 2009, featuring Solid Snake and Raiden, introducing new stealth gameplay features.
Modeled estimate, not a reported figure. How we estimate →
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Play it and you'll know
25 year old game, yet it still holds up wonderfully to this day, happy to say this port got ironed out nicely since launch, extremely *solid* way to experience this title. There's just something special about MGS2, while I like the atmosphere of 1 and stealth/moment-to-moment gameplay of 3 more, going through the Tanker and Big Shell has always stuck in my mind so much, I always adored this story and its pacing. The whole bait and switch with Raiden is really fun, each Dead Cell fight is unique, the music is, as always, a bop. And man that final segment with Arsenal Gear and the game deconstructing itself alongside the speeches both before and after the final boss, rewired my brain ever since I first played MGS2 during Covid. And man was the take on AI and the internet sooo ahead of time, it's not even funny. (I know Kojima gets glazed a ton, and while he has faults as a creator I recognise, I still consider him a very dedicated and impressive game designer, but this game and it's message, with when in time this game originally released, is one of the few times I'd actually call him a visionary as a game developer) My rating is: "You know, The predicted all this in Metal Gear Solid 2/10"

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 31: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Amazing game, one of my favorites, but this version is awful. Game is locked to 720p, sound is weirdly mixed and alot of visual bugs. Emulate this game or mod this version to make it worth playing
jammed and crashed 3 times on the coolant part of the game, that part bugged or what?
